Maybe I missed something but isn’t the problem that OTHER people were speculating on where he was and now he’s cleared it up? Didn’t he have a communication path back to his office?
On MSNBC they are treating this like it’s as serious as John Edwards’ affair in terms of derailing a potential GOP candidate.

No, his office said they couldn’t reach him and didn’t know where he was. His wife also said she didn’t know where he was but that she “wasn’t worried” (huh?).

Most charitable explantion on his How I met Your Mother "I'm going to Argentina" impulse is he decided to do a John Stonehouse and thought better/didn't have the 'nads to compete it.
Other people? His wife was speculating, his office, Lt Governor and State Police were all looking for him and you blame the media? Give me a break. He is the Governor and Governors don’t just disappear without notification when it is for days not hours.

It's not a "scandal". It is a very serious red flag for those of us who were looking him to be a contender in 2012. If he can't take the heat in the State House without bugging out then I do not want him near the White House. At this point it would take a helluva "verifiably true" story to explain this episode to my satisfaction.
