Her Name was Neda - Please pray for her

In Persian, Neda means divine message or voice. Search the bold text and you will see her look into the camera in one last pleading and defiant act.

____________________________________________________

At 19:05 June 20th, Place: Karekar Ave., at the corner crossing Khosravi St. and Salehi st.

A young woman who was standing aside with her father watching the protests was shot by a basij member hiding on the rooftop of a civilian house. He had clear shot at the girl and could not miss her. However, he aimed straight her heart. I am a doctor, so I rushed to try to save her. But the impact of the gunshot was so fierce that the bullet had blasted inside the victim’s chest, and she died in less than 2 minutes.

The protests were going on about 1 kilometers away in the main street and some of the protesting crowd were running from tear gass used among them, towards Salehi St.

May God hear my prayers for the soul of Neda, the divine message. May He give her peace and the freedom that she died seeking. May He also bless the ones who bring the light of truth to my eyes, so that those who seek darkness fail.

“I’m always astonished at the level of hate and ignorance on these message boards.”

I, on the other hand, am astonished at the lengths to which many will go to deny history and reality.

In your post, you wrote, “Ah, Iran is a Persian country with a Persian heritage.” True, but you implied Persian isn’t Muslim.

Wrong.

Additionally, you wrote “it is my hope that the imposed Islamic regime will be a thing of the past,”

Again, wrong.

Remember all the “Persians” in those cheering mobs of Islamic Jihaddi whacko nutcakes? Surely you remember all those hate filled Muslims estatic, all pouring into the streets celebrating the return of that dishevelled, drooling, old Muslim nutcase after the Shah was removed?

I do. But I am not sure you do. Christian charity, forgivness, etc will lead to your destruction in the coming battle with Islam. Know your enemy.

Then nuke him until he glows.

Islam Delenda Est - Because Muslims insist on killing us, enslaving us, or forcing us to submit to Islam, and real Americans don’t do submission well, that’s why.

If your post is accusing me of “an amazing display of textbook bigotry”, might I ask upon what you base that accusation?

Christian and Mosaic law are very similar, and Jews have been saying a prayer in remembrance of their dear for several thousand years.

Christian prayers for ones dead are as old as Christianity.

St. Paul prays for the deceased:

May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains. On the contrary, when he was in Rome, he searched hard for me until he found me. May the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day! You know very well in how many ways he helped me in Ephesus.

“Nuke ‘em all, while we still have our nuclear advantage?”

Really? The hatred and condemnation the U.S. would suffer from the ENTIRE world would make the hatred that radical Islamic groups have for the U.S. seem really petty.

I can't think of a more inappropriate response.

You said Jesus prayed for the dead.

If you can’t show that to me IN THE BIBLE, then I must conclude that it didn’t happen.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”

You said Jesus prayed for the dead.

I said no such thing sir.

When Jesus was on this earth, prayer for the dead was well established:

"they found under the coats of the slain some of the donaries of the idols of Jamnia, which the law forbiddeth to the Jews: so that all plainly saw, that for this cause they were slain. Then they all blessed the just judgment of the Lord, who had discovered the things that were hidden. And so betaking themselves to prayers, they besought him, that the sin which had been committed might be forgotten...And making a gathering, he [Judas] sent twelve [al. two] drachms of silver to Jerusalem for sacrifice to be offered for the sins of the dead, thinking well and religiously concerning the resurrection (for if he had not hoped that they that were slain should rise again, it would have seemed superfluous and vain to pray for the dead), and because he considered that they who had fallen asleep in godliness, had great grace laid up for them. It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins."

Were is it that Jesus teaches we are NOT to pray for the dead? Was He here to change the law?

Ah, you didn’t say it, but Kirkwood did.

> When Jesus was on this earth, prayer for the dead was
> well established:

So was idolatry, murder, adultery, theft, covetousness. That does not make it the right thing to do.

> Were is it that Jesus teaches we are NOT to pray for the
> dead?

This is argumentum ad ignorantiam, and is not a valid argument. Sorry.

> Was He here to change the law?

No He was here to fulfill it.

Now, if you can show me in Exodus, Numbers, Leviticus, or Deuteronomy, where Israel were commanded to pray for the dead, you’ll have a valid argument.

> they found under the coats of the slain some of the
> donaries of the idols of Jamnia

Sorry, not in my Bible. Maybe it’s one of the appropriately named Apocryphal books, for which there is no corroboration elsewhere in Scripture.

Here is what the Bible says about the dead.

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

There is much more, but you should study it on your own.

I’m not going to answer Constitutionalist Conservative; you said it all in your response. Thanks for the clarity.

Persian isn't Muslim. I won't go into long historical details, just let me make some obvious current differences: Compare the flags of Iran before and after the Revolution. Compare the calendar -- the Persian Calendar is a solar calendar, the Islamic Calendar is Lunar.

Yes, there was an Islamic Revolution in 1980. And Neda who died yesterday wanting freedom - played what role in that revolution? --- Don't let your hatred for the past blind you to the realities of the present.

Sorry, not in my Bible.

But it is in mine, sir.

We can agree that Christ was silent on the subject. We can also agree that it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins - even good intentions may be abused. We need not discuss necromancy or divination.

If your argument is that sin may not be remitted in the hereafter, then we will disagree: "And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but he that shall speak against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him neither in this world, nor in the world to come."

"The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much." It would be foolhardy for the one that prays to assume to know that which will be accomplished and how it shall come to pass. There should be more prayer rather than less as I see it. The act of prayer may bring temporal benefit, even if the prayer is for the dead. So I see nothing wrong with intercessory prayer - so long as the practice is not abused.

I pray that I have not done so here.

I've seen Sophie Scholl probably three or four times. It is truly a superb film quietly portraying the story of a quiet yet powerful heroine.

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

That is in your Bible and mine.

Let’s pray for those who still have a chance at salvation. The dead must face their judgement. There is nothing we can do for them once they pass from this life.

Romans chapter 1 makes it plain. The nature of God is revealed throughout nature, and we are without excuse.

1st John 4:3 says, “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”

Doesn’t look good for those who do not confess that Jesus Christ (God the Son) is come in the flesh. You can only do that while you are alive.

Lon the Murderer was also at Waco and drove a tank on the last day. One of the only things I pray for is for God thrown the murdering scum into hell for all of eternity for crimes against women and children.

Dear Lord Jesus,
We pray for this brave girl and her family. We pray you give her family comfort, strength and safety during this difficult time. We pray that they can breath freedom and her daughter’s tragic murder will be part of the freedom she died for. We pray your mercy and salvation moves across that land.

In Your Holy Name,
Amen
