ABC is refusing paid ads for its health care program at the White House. Thus they're refusing even a paid-for alternative viewpoint.
Conservatives for Patients Rights requested the rates to buy a 60 second network spot immediately preceding the broadcast of the Town Hall meeting.
Here is statement from Rick Scott, chairman of Conservatives for Patients Rights.
"It is unfortunate - and unusual - that ABC is refusing to accept paid advertising that would present an alternative viewpoint for the White House health care event. Health care is an issue that touches every American and all potential pieces of legislation have carried a pricetag in excess of $1 trillion of taxpayers' money. The American people deserve a healthy, robust debate on this issue and ABC's decision - as of now - to exclude even paid advertisements that present an alternative view does a disservice to the public. Our organization is more than willing to purchase ad time on ABC to present an alternative viewpoint and our hope is that ABC will reconsider having such viewpoints be part of this crucial debate for the American people. We were surprised to hear that paid advertisements would not be accepted when we inquired and we would certainly be open to purchasing time if ABC would reconsider."

The show is propaganda on the part of ABC. Ignore them and get your news from independent news sources.
It isn’t “over-regulation” to permit people to NOT BE FORCED TO PAY for bundled television programming on cable bills.
If you don’t want to fund Viacom or Time-Life-Warner or Disney or NBC, you shouldn’t HAVE to surrender part of your bill to them every month.
Right now, the only option you have is to not have any pay television.
It doesn’t matter that they don’t have the votes, they’ll just pull what they pulled last night.
Told everyone the debate was over for the day on spending package amendments, then when enough Republicans left called a quick vote and passed it before the Republicans could get back.
This isn’t our former government we have now. We have a Thugocracy.
“There’s really no way to fight against or to turn the tide on this blatant Obama favoritism....”
Don’t be a G D crybaby. Any company will crap its pants if it might lose even 5 or 10% of its business. We all need to grow a pair. Ladies exempted.
“Boycott ABC all day, every day.”
Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt.
Recently converted to HD Satellite, new HDTV and programmed CBS out of all the menu structures. That way, I don’t have to see them in the listings. (In an extreme circumstance, such as a super-volcano erupting in downtown New York, I can punch in the numbers to make sure CBS is finally off the air.)
Thanks for the list jersey117! I have just contacted every ABC network affliate in my area with the following e-mail:
Never in my entire life, did I ever dream that a television network would be so blatantly undemocratic as to not even accept paid advertising against something so important as national health care, much less air only one side of a national debate question.
ABC has successfully demonstrated that it is against democracy in its decision to only air the president’s views on health care. I intend to write every one of your sponsors to let them know that they are contributing to the downfall of democracy and that I will no longer be using their products if they continue to support your unethical actions.
As a journalism teacher, I have been instructed that it is the professional duty of mass media to present both sides of issues. ABC is shameful and it will be a cold day in hell before I ever watch your network again. I urge you to rethink what your company has done. There are millions who feel the same as I. Long live democracy and its pillar of debate!
You need to reread my post. Conservatives aren't 5-10% of their business. It's as simple as that.
Studios aren't paid for the number of viewers that watch their programs, but the kinds of viewers that watch their programs. It's a kind of hyper-identity politics. And, it's the reason that "Hero's" (with a very young, and coveted audience) only gets a third of the viewers of "NCIS" (with a very old audience), but makes twice (almost three times) as much per-commercial. Hero's get much fewer viewers, but makes much more money for the network.
It's also the reason why seemingly popular shows, like "The Unit" and "Without a Trace", get canceled while still enjoying ratings that other shows would, on the surface, like to have.
Networks don't care if conservatives watch their programming as no one is paying them for our demographic.
[Fox needs to have an hour long show up against it with alternative ideas. Lets see who wins in the ratings.]
Thats a great idea. And take paid advertising.
Oh, and on the Fox affiliates, play the movie THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE.
A boycott won’t be effective. What will be effective is to convince as many people as possible that this is an infomercial for the Obama agenda. The more people believe that it is a sham and is not objective, the less effective it will be.
I thought ABC said that we’d get all sides of the issue. Hmmm.
ABC is now an official arm of the Democrat Party.
This is outrageous!
LOLOL
On with ‘The Show’
Hmmmmmmmm...time to boycott and hit sponsors hard?
yeah...it is. just find a government agency that will take the case(Obama’s inJustice department?? snort...wheeze...laff) including the RINO congress.
we are truly ucked fe.
Remember, Stephanapoulos is ABC News’ Chief Washington correspondent, and he ‘s a big buddy of Rahm’s, they speak all the time. I’m certain George is playing a major role in setting this up, he’s the one I’d be directing the questions/complaints to.
See you on the breadline.
There is another option. Think hard. It'll come to you.
Well I hope Mark Levin is looking to file a Federal lawsuit with Landmark Legal and shop it around to a conservative judge to get an injunction against ABC. ABC is using the public airwaves and is not operating in te public interest. I am no legal scholar but this textbook misuse here.
I'm afraid that we've gone over the 50% mark. More people receive from than give to the government. I am astounded that Obama could do it so quickly.
