Glenn Greenwald passes along a clip of Richard Wolffe discussing his new Barack Obama biography, “Renegade,” on G. Gordon Liddy’s talk show, in an interview that rather quickly dovetails into Liddy’s conspiracy theories about Obama’s citizenship.
LIDDY: You mentioned distractions. One of these distractions right now is these lawsuits that take the position that he is not constitutionally eligible to be president of the United States because he is not a naturally-born citizen. Now, he could clear that up in an instant by producing a genuine birth certificate. And yet he refuses to do it. He says he has one but he won’t do it. What is behind that? Hubris or what? WOLFFE: Well, I’m going to differ with you on this one. This came up during the campaign. A copy of the birth certificate is out there. Anyone can see it. He was born in Hawaii. There are documents from the state of Hawaii that prove it. I don’t know what else you really expect me to do.
LIDDY: Well, here’s the thing. The document you speak of is a “certificate of live birth,” which is not a birth certificate. You can’t get a passport with that, you can’t even register your kids…
WOLFFE: Yes you can. That’s what I do. That’s what everyone does. The certificate of live birth is exactly what you get a passport with.
LIDDY: No, it’s a birth certificate.
WOLFFE: That’s — the copy of the birth certificate, everyone has copies of birth certificates. They use them all the time. Nobody hands out the one original document.
LIDDY: No, I wouldn’t expect them to.
WOLFFE: When you go to the DMV you take a copy with you. You don’t take the real… and it’s an official copy, it has to be embossed and stamped, it’s not just like a xerox. But that’s what it is, and it’s widely accepted.
LIDDY: Why is it redacted? Why is it redacted?
WOLFFE: I haven’t seen any redactions.
LIDDY: The one that’s on the internet, that’s the one that I’ve seen, and that one has the serial number redacted.
WOLFFE: I have no idea. I’ve seen one with serial numbers on it and everything. So I don’t know what the problem is here. Do you have an idea of where he was born if it wasn’t in Hawaii?
LIDDY: Yeah, there’s an affidavit from his grandmother that says that she observed the birth in Mombassa, Kenya.
WOLFFE: Yeah. You know, I just think that that is completely false.
You and others can't continue to play the edges, either you think its a real issue or you don't!
Over the months a lot of people, even on the right kept throwing up the "distraction" angle, the issue hasn't gone away and won't until a certified Certificate is produced. The issue it is still gaining traction to this day. Hell, even Rush, Hannity, Beck and a handful of other "formerly" skeptic media types are now starting to comment on it regularly.

I’d like to find someone with a Birth Certificate from another country, who also has a Certificate of Live Birth from Hawai’i.

A question about Stuttering Barry’s citizenship...if his mommy is an American, why isn’t little Barry considered a US citizen? I just think we pro-Americans might be expending too much energy here, instead of going after him for his anti-American views, his desire to turn our nation into a 3rd World craphole, and his abandonment of Israel.
Beause many elected officials don't care about Constitutional rule, but I do. It is the duty of the citizen, not the government, to enforce Constitutional rule.
I have Fox on continuosly from 4 PM until 10 or 11-with the exception of the 7PM slot-then switch over to cnbc-Larry Kudlow. If the programmers at Fox were smart they would put Beck on from 7-8 and drop shep all together. They would then catch the start of the west coast drive time slot (sat. radio) with Beck. I can not force myself to watch Smith.
Wouldn’t you think the president would want to just produce the original to one of these court cases and stop all the nonsense, if he has one, that is.
Why has he wasted over a million bucks ducking the issue if he can prove otherwise?????
Hope he has to prove it when he runs for re-election.....
Qualifying for the Presidency hinges upon the words "Natural born". Citizenship is not enough, or Shwarzenegger could become President.

Don’t know what contacts Liddy may/may not have or if the CIA even has any interest in knowing but you can bet that the Chinese, Russians and Israelis (and others) do and probably know. That is why honesty is necessary and proper screening is so important.

Anything can get you registered to vote, ever hear of the Motor Voter Law, which automatically registers anyone applying for welfare or any other government services, to vote.
