NO designer would put a glitzy silver wide belt for a suit for a memorial service......let alone with that outfit at all.
It doesn’t have to be processed to look like that. It can be artfully blown out, and modern black women are having this done rather than damaging chemical processes.
Many past stories have related the “belt” issue.
It is not part of the dress.
It is as much an ad-on as the handbag or the shoes...all by designers too!
A hair band or even her sweaters are not part of the original designers plan, but are part of another designer trying to effect the $$$ bottom line of their business.
Most of the “belt” issue is the attempt to create an Obama LOOK! The original “belt” was seen on several outfits.
Real class and no class what-so-ever.
There’s a good possibility it is a wig.
I'm guessing that since the coat is an 'open front', meaning it doesn't have fasteners of any sort, she used the belt to keep the coat from flying open in the wind. If the belt had been closer in color to the outfit, and she hadn't worn it slap up to her armpits, it would not have looked too bad.
The belt isn’t the only problem I see. It’s silver. You never wear silver. The only people I see wear silver shoes in the daytime are little old ladies or trailer park girls.
Tee hee..I was TRYING to be a little kind..but I agree neither are suited to the job..that is M and B.
FYI Carla refers to herself as Carla Sarkozy. It is the media who hyphenates her name.
I am all for women using their maiden name as their middle name, so Carla Bruni Sarkozy looks right to me. I agree that the hyphenated thing is pretentious.
Can we stop trashing Michelle Obama's looks? She has a hard enough time avoiding the judgements of the Gay Fashion Police who do the Math whenever she has to go up against Carla Bruni.
It's childish. It's the kind of thing the Kos Diarists and the DU people did to Laura Bush and Condi Rice for eight frakking years for the sole reason that they were married to or worked for the President of the opposite political party.
Yes, Michelle's a big liberal. So what? It's her husband's policies that are ruining the country: the Middle Class people who voted for him will find that out when they wake up one day to find that their currency is about as well regarded as the Reichsmark used to be. But Michelle? She's merely being a First Lady.
Let's leave it at that. I"m not trying to be a concern troll, as I've been at this site since before the Impeachment days. But let's do something that just makes us look bad.
Best,
Chris
I guess Michelle ma belle must feel the way she felt as a freshman at princeton: out of place and out of touch. Really so different from the way other frosh feel.
Dreaming up ways to get back at Carla...
Ummmmmm....no. She's the First Lady of the US and she HATES America. Have you forgotten her speeches before they shut her up? Have you forgotten how she told young people NOT to seek their fortunes, how she's never been proud of this country until her husband won the nomination?
I expect the people living in the White House to at least pretend to like the people that put them there. So, no I will not stop trashing her, sorry.
Guess some people do not like our “trashing” M. If she just asked for advice from people who know how to look classic, not “trashy”, we might have less reason to complain about her representing all of us especially internationally.
Your comments about silver are spot on. Silver or gold evening slippers were even questionable unless the dress was floor length!
Things change...I guess we don’t!
“I dont care if she comes from the classiest family ever. She isnt classy.”
Meeeeooowwww......
“Both were almost identically dressed in knee-length cream with belts, bare legs and heels.”
“But let’s do something that just makes us look bad.”
As per your instructions, we are, LOL!
Gordon Brown’s wife always looks so browbeaten.
