Texas Woman Told to Remove 'Offensive' American Flag From Office
FoxNews ^ | May 29, 2009

What's offensive about the American flag? Some people don't like it but I'm not like that. It reminds me of the tens of thousands of people who have died so I can be free. If you live in the U.S. and display an American flag at your home or in your personal work space no one should tell you to take it down. Who would do that anyway? It would be shameful.

According to FoxNews, Kindred Hospital - Mansfield, TX would. A woman with her daughter deployed in Iraq was told to remove the American flag from her area because it offended someone. Don't know about you but I find the flag removal order offensive.

The American flag is not recognized or saluted at the highest levels in DC.

It is not longer saluted, as are the flags of America's new Overlords.

McLucas said one of her colleagues, a woman who immigrated to the United States from Africa 14 years ago, complained about the flag to upper management,.....

There's the problem with immigration right there....assuming this woman has obtained US Citizenship (maybe a bad assumption) after 14 years, she does not consider herself an American. No assimilation.

If she has not obtained citizenship and is here illegally, then STFU about any displays of OUR flag.

I’m sorry, isn’t it a little contradictory to make this a giant issue, when we were just cheering Texas on secession?

Perhaps we are hoping that Texas will become the kernel of the revived United States.

No and here's why, the same sort of person that found her flag offensive is forcing secession on Texas, an African that has been in the United States so long that they think they can tell real citizens or at least Natural born ones what to do without any objections at the state and personal levels.

In short it is a microcosm of the big picture, this lady is defending her territory and her sovereignty over it from an aggressive African trying to force her to do something repugnant to her beliefs.

Way back when, people emigrated here for OPPORTUNITY AND FREEDOMS, they did not have some sort of ethnic association waiting for them to “set them up”, show them how to work the system, etc. There was no system, all you received when you reached our shores was the freedom to pursue your life to the fullest. Many immigrants returned to their homelands because they could not make it here.

My grandfather came here from Italy in the late 1920’s, 15 yrs. old ALONE, left a huge family in Italy. He assimilated right away, taught himself english, worked multi jobs, and by the time my mother was born, owned his own successful business until he died. My grandfather always stressed to my mom and uncle, they were American, Italian was not taught to the kids, only English. By God, he was so proud to have come to this country and become a citizen. He never stepped foot in Italy again.

After showing her @ss, she may not want to live in Texas much longer. It is only a matter of time before her name gets out. She’s one of 4 supervisors, word has the ability to spread like wildfire.

Actually, immigrant mutual aid societies wer very big, especially among Jewish, eastern European, and Scandanavian immigrants. Most also settled in ethnic ghettos, along with their fellow countrymen. My great-grandmother came to this country from Poland in 1919, and, to the day she died in 1968, never knew more than a few words of English. Her husband, however, did learn it because he wouldn't have been able to build a successful business otherwise (or schmooze the local pols in Newark for that matter for contracts).

I agree with you that the multiculturalism/affirmative action regime must end. Nevertheless, it would be a myth to say that most immigrants in the past assimilated in the first generation. First generation were typically foreigners (and remained culturally so even when naturalized) living in ethnic ghettos, second generation were "ethnics" who wanted to leave said nabes, third generation were fully assimilated.

I am not talking about assimilation, where everyone just picked up stakes, came here and began singing Yankee Doodle Dandy. The mindset was different, aid groups were not the same now, think LaRaza. My father grew up in a Polish neighborhood in Brooklyn, Greenpoint to be exact. Yes your ethnicity was still important, customs were still important, but not to the point of being separate either.

We all did melt together. Several years ago, my sons school was celebrating different cultures and I told him, you are American, that is your culture, plain and simple and be proud of that. Between his Dad and I, we have German, Polish, Italian, Welsh, Irish and Slavic and who knows what else. Never in my life have I thought of myself as a hyphenated American.

The day this story broke about 40 people with American flags and signs were posted outside of the hospital in question. I live next to this very small hospital (more like a hospice) and was pleased to see the group outside protesting. This is a very conservative area, except for the taxes... We’ll have to address that next.

The offended supervisor supposedly emigrated from Africa.

Whadda bet she is a muslim first, last and always before an American? If so, why do we let these people settle on our shores? I see no reason why Islamists are allowed to become American citizens.
