We will be putting together the details of the week’s events soon. For now, this is our tentative agenda for 9-10 through 9-12.

Thursday, 9-10:
Morning: Liberty Summit with select Congressmen and Senators
Afternoon: Grassroots visits with Representatives and Senators
Evening: Time to explore Washington

Friday, 9-11:
Morning: September 11th Never Forget memorial
Afternoon: Grassroots leadership training seminars
Evening: Special Dinner

Saturday, 9-12:
8:00am Set up for stages and volunteers
10:00am Events begin at U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial
2:00pm March begins at Lincoln Memorial and ends at the U.S. Capitol Building

A few days ago it was announced the Florida Chapter of Free Republic would be gathering together in D.C. to attend the National Tea Party. Due to overwhelming interest all across the country, the event has now gone national

Get your plans set and join Freepers from across the U.S. for the 1^st. annual Freeper National Tea Party Convention!

• What:        Freeper National Tea Party Convention
• Where:    U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial March begins at Lincoln Memorial and ends at the U.S. Capitol Building
• When:     September 10-12, 2009

This event is open only to Registered Freepers, their families and friends.

I’ll be coordinating this event with the MOST appreciated help from seekthetruth. For now I (Brytani) am collecting names of those who are committed to going to D.C. with us. Once we have a realistic idea of how many Freepers are aboard, I will be contacting Hotels in D.C. to find a group or convention rate. 

We already have a few wonderful Hotels on our list and don’t want to wait until they are filled up. The plan is simple and will take only a FreepMail but time is of the essence!!! Hotels in D.C. are filling up fast!!!

Please send Brytani a FreepMail if you are going to D.C. or if you’re strongly considering attending.   For now I need your FreeperID, the number of room you will need the how many people will be in your party. If you have any questions please ask them on this thread or if you’d prefer you can FreepMail me.

During the first week of June I will announce the Hotel, room rate, address, perks etc and when and how your reservation will need to be made.

For those who are considering joining us but have not completely committed, please FreepMail as well. This will give me a better idea of how many room to inquire on.

If you are already attending please consider staying with Freepers from around the nation. You’ll have the opportunity to meet people you’ve been talking to for years and make new FRriends.

Come on everyone get on board!!! Save a bit of money! Could you ask for a better group of people to spend a weekend with?

My hubby and I decided to spend about 9-10 days in DC and celebrate our 30th anniversary there too. It’s not till September 29th but close enough! We’re flying in from Arizona so if the budget’s gonna take a hit, might as well make it memorable!

Great! Be sure to FReepmail Brytani and tell her if you want a room at the group rate, or if you are getting your own hotel. She also needs to know if you are attending the Convention events. She needs to know these numbers to make sure the Convention hall is the size required.

What a great way to celebrate an anniversary! Our date is August 29th, so actually hubby and I will call our stay in DC our anniversary gift too! He will like that idea! He won't have to take me out to dinner on August 29th! :) Looking forward to meeting you in DC! Jean in St.Pete, FL

Hildy, I’m not familiar with the July 4 march on Washington you’re referring to, but if I might pipe in as a ‘local’ to DC ... any march set for DC on 7/4 is worthless. The national holiday is perhaps the biggest event of the year on the Mall .. bigger than Obama’s inaugural, even. Any organized protest would be totally lost in that crowd.

And, I am not sure the Park Service would grant a permit for a march on that date or those surrounding it .. the whole mall, from the Lincoln to the Capitol is one big national party to celebration the Fourth.

The article says this is open to Freepers and their families. Have yo dropped that yet? and if not how will such a mandate be enforced. We are talking hopefully about one hell of a lot of people and the mall is a public place.

Since we have Freedom Ralliers coming down from Merced, we want to coordinate our convoy with theirs. Melissa Courtney is coordinating it and will post more details shortly. Apparently the plan is to wait near an onramp on the 99 and merge into the traffic when they arrive.

Well, I should have read the thread title. The convoy is taking place on July 4 and headed south along Highway 99 in the Central Valley of California to the Freedom Rally taking place that morning. Disregard my previous post.
