Good Lord, I hope it wasn’t Reverend Wright!
is this the second time they’ve attacked this guy, or is this the footage from the 1st time?
In my opinion, this kind of thing gives you every right to run from police. “Running from police” or some variant thereof cannot be a crime, simply on the basis of things like this.
If they have his camcorder, then how is video from his camcorder posted on Youtube? He’s the one filming from INSIDE the car after all!
Also, I think there’s much ore to this story. There seem to be TWO videos at least at youtube taken on different days or at very different times at the border. One is clearly in daylight and the other at night. Was he sitting at the border for hours?
If he was interfering with them stopping illegals they should have just shot him.
As long as we the people lay silent this will be happening in your own city. Your government will own you.
Nazi bass terds.
I have never in my life seen a more idiotic person.
Please note:
This “pastor” was attempting to cross the border. He was not “stopped” by the police; he was crossing the checkpoint. Supposedly, their dog detected something. I don’t care whether the driver didn’t see the sign. Hey, sometimes I imagine the dog can be plain wrong. Maybe at the last 7-11 a bum wiped his pot-soaked fingers on the tire?
The only point is that the police actually have every right to search the car. Their job is to check cars crossing the border.
Don’t try to go to Mexico, and they don’t need to inspect your car. Get out of the damned car, and they don’t have to force you out. Roll down the window, and they don’t have to break it in. Do either, and they don’t need to taser a guy who is clearly acting like someone trying to do something criminal and is resisting arrest.
This pastor got everything he deserves.
After watching, and reading, most of what has been posted on this incident, I couldn’t agree with you more.
One thing that keeps coming up, in my mind, is that the pastor says he has the right to travel within the united states without unwarranted search and seizure. I agree with him there. However, he is, by all accounts, crossing the border. Why, otherwise, is he at a “checkpoint” at the border?
Is this a contradiction within the story, or is it just me?
Well judging from some of the comments on youtube you're not alone in your sentiments, however there are more than a few instances now where people are dying left and right from being tased so sometimes it works just as well as a gun.
So you believe that only Nazis secure their borders? You would rather they stop the guy, find out he’d rather not have them search his car, and then wave him through?
Incidentally, I watched the video. I saw no evidence of him being beaten. There was one part of the video where you can see them smash open the window, so they can drag him out of the car. I think the pastor thought this looks like a beating. I see a lot of lacerations, but I don’t see any wounds.
So how do you want us to respond to this? Always presume a dozen cops are lying and the citizen is always telling the truth? Ban car searches at the international border? Exempt anyone who claims to be a pastor from law enforcement?
You trust this government to use guns?
This wasn't at the border, it is my understanding these checkpoints have been set up 100 miles at points within the border, he was merely traveling to destinations within the U.S and was wondering why he was being detained without cause.
Speaking of detention without cause...is that legal? I remember being taught in elementary school that the officer always needs to give cause. Presumably that was based on the 6th Amendment — “to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation”.
“This wasn’t at the border, it is my understanding these checkpoints have been set up 100 miles at points within the border”
We have 2 here on I-5 and I-15 and the only problem is that they don’t operate them 24/7!
According to the Pastor after they broke out both the front windows of his car and started tasing him, it caused his head to slam into the broken glass in the car door and then when they wrestled him out of the car to the ground all the while he was still being tased one of the BP Agents slammed his boot on his head into more glass that was on the ground until he was cuffed.
What I don't understand is with 8-10 of them there why couldn't they just physically pull him out of the car, why the need for a tasering? By now they all knew this guy was not a criminal.
it wasn’t at the border. it was well within the US.
