Obama goes first in a few minutes. He's speaking at the rotunda of the National Archives (you think we could get Nicholas Cage on that birth certificate thingey?) on his Gitmo policy and other man-caused calamities.
Vice President Cheney gets the rebuttal time. He's speaking at the American Enterprise Institute around 10:45 a.m. EDT.
And insult to “douche”, sir!
His speech is all about him ... and little about “us.”
Agree, I think we should expand it as well.
He gets a lot of stuff wrong, but as long as he fools the media as well as his supporters (both the same) it will play OK for a while, until we have an attack.
Everyone I talk to is enraged at the destruction being wrought on our country by Zero and his henchmen. They’re talking politics at parties, at the grocery store, at the health food store. People are in little groups discussing their rage over what politicians are doing to our country. They feel powerless and know that the Elitists in DC aren’t listening to their constituents. A showdown is coming at the polls in 2010. The morons in DC are toast just as Arnold’s propositions were TOAST on Tuesday. The GOP must find a strong leader to direct the tidal wave that’s forming.
It's just more arrogance.
You gonna personally guarantee the personal safety of all those guards, Barry? The guards' families and friends? The people in the communities you gift with Islamists? How about the safety of the folks called to serve on the juries? The prosecutors and their families? Gonna guarantee nothing'll happen to those folks thanks to your decision...?
Note to Congress: Well, you all won't be dumb enough, will you...
re: Gitmo/AQ
It is a recruiting tool, like Perelli Tours, for a vacation.
I bet more jihadis buy Limbaugh’s Club Gitmo shirts than in the US.

Closing Gitmo [Michael Rubin]
More live-blogging: Obama argues that Gitmo serves as a rallying point for jihadists and al-Qaeda terrorists and that this makes the United States less safe.
Question: How does the President address the fact that al-Qaeda struck and struck persistently before Gitmo?
This suggests that the problem, again, is ideologyand specifically al-Qaeda’s ideologyrather than Gitmo. We will be less secure unless we focus on the ideological problem rather than blaming ourselves.
No one had ever flown planes full of our citizens into buildings before either, yet Sept 11,2001 changed that.
A President should never say never.
Please thank your son for his service. My family never forgets
what an enormous sacrifice your family is making. My hope and prayer is that your son returns safely and that this country can survive this dangerous president. My very best to you and yours.
To be fair, that might be due to bifocal lenses. I wear bifocals and my nose is up 45 degrees when I read.

Yes, that is what I am thinking. He is of the age group that mostly all use bi- or trifocals.
If he doesn’t wear them that the upraised chin is just Mussolini, etc redux.
How much would you pay to have some bumbling intern walk by and “accidentally” trip over the teleprompter’s power cord and unplug it?
That’s the way I’m hearing it too—he’s having an indignant temper tantrum.
0bama bound by law.
BS!
He tramples the Constitution daily.
Obamas economy is totally crashing, but his only priority is spending money to close a base that houses people intent on killing Americans.
Why did any of you think it was okay to vote for him, again?
That’s a GREAT picture....Cheney doesn’t hide his feelings very well....and why should he?? He’s right!!!
And for a guy who is so enamored with the rule of law, why isn't he protecting our borders and deporting illegal aliens who have violated the rule of law.
Ha ha, speaking about the archives.
Anything about those stolen/missing Clinton era archives.
We see how our history is being protected.
“The rule of law, the courts have spoken” - Obama.
I would like to see how Obama reacts to a court ruling that he has improperly seized assets of Chrysler creditors?
Well said.
