To be fair, that might be due to bifocal lenses. I wear bifocals and my nose is up 45 degrees when I read.

Yes, that is what I am thinking. He is of the age group that mostly all use bi- or trifocals.
If he doesn’t wear them that the upraised chin is just Mussolini, etc redux.
