The Israeli Air Force (IAF) is training against warplanes in service with Arab nations and Iran amid worries in the White House that Tel Aviv would start a war without US consent.
The IAF has trained against Soviet-designed MiG-29 Fulcrum fighters - loaned to Israel by an unidentified foreign country - to prepare its pilots for missions where they might have to fight a foreign air force, Israel's Channel 2 reported.
The MiG-29, one of the fighter jets used by Arab countries and Iran, has been developed to counter American-made jets such the F-16, used by the IAF.
"We have studied them and are using them to practice dog fights. It is a good opportunity to see how effective our Air Force can be in dealing with a possible adversary," an Israeli test pilot told the channel.

I thought Iran is Shia.
The occupant of the White House is obsessed with having control? Nah.
Yet another demonstration of Obama's narcissism. How *dare* Israel ponder defending themselves against genocide without consulting The One.
'Cause everyone else seems willing to do just that.
My money is on them doing whatever it takes. With or without our help or support.
On an irrelevant note...I've always been a fan of the F-22. I was stationed at Langley AFB when the first operational unit arrived. They're pretty impressive aircraft.
They need to be training their ICBM crews is what they need to be training. Wipe out Iran
Good hunting Israel!
“They need to be training their ICBM crews is what they need to be training. Wipe out Iran”

I have a feeling that that is in Israel’s contingency plans (at the very least).
I believe Israel found a huge oil reserve about six months or so ago. That will bring in plenty of money.
The biggest impediment toward an Israeli AF strike on Iranian nuke facilities are double digit SAMs (i.e. 9K330 Tor-M1, aka SA-15 Gauntlet) and AAA (i.e. Pantsir-S1, aka SA-22 Greyhound), especially the feared S-300PMU-2, aka SA-20B Gargoyle.
They have to be taken into account, otherwise the F-15Is (from 69 SQN) and F-16Is (from 107 and 119 SQNs) would be slaughtered.
I know they are something to be reckoned with, even the Iranian MiG-29 Fulcrums, which I bet the Israeli fighter pilots know how to go up against (right?), but to make things a helluva lot easier, why not equip the Israelis with F-22I Raptors (customized with Israeli avionics, equipping 106 and 133 SQNs), that will enable them to evade and suppress the double digit SAMs and eliminate Iranian F-14s and MiGs while the Ra’am and Sufa workhorses bring in the bombs.
It’s that simple.
It’s that sim

It is.
How dare Israel behave like a sovereign nation and not hold their breath waiting for US consent to fight for their lives!/SAR
I always wondered why they put up with the arrogance from the US leaders and with a muslim/communist in office I can see no benefit to them at all in kissing butt with Bozo.
My brother has trained both Arab and Jewish pilots, and he says that absolutely, the Jews are the best.
“. loaned to Israel by an unidentified foreign country ...
India?”
That would be my bet as well. I also believe a portion of the IAF strike, when it comes, will be launched from Indian bases.
Just a feeling I have.
Just like refueling exercises they have been practicing over the Med. The Saudi’s and other Gulf states have been quietly stocking up recently on Patriot missile technology. I figure the IAF will get a quiet wink and a nod for a quick flyover from the Saudi’s. For all of Obamas bowing to the Saudi King the Saudis’ are upset with BHO approach to Iran. They showed it recently by not buying at a recent US Treasuries auction. The US was rebuffed x 3. I don't know if they eventually relented but they were sending a message to BHO that they do not like cozy US Iran relations.
