Pelosi: Bush briefers lied to me
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Bush administration told her explicitly they weren't using waterboarding on terror detainees during a Sept. 2002 briefing on interrogation tactics -- months after they had begun waterboarding Abu Zabaydah.
Pelosi also called on CIA director Leon Panetta to release full details on her briefing -- and shook her head in the affirmative when asked if the administration had actually "lied" to her.
"The only mention of waterboarding in the briefing was that it was not being employed," she told reporters, reading from a prepared statement -- twice for emphasis.
The intelligence briefers gave Pelosi, she said, "inaccurate and incomplete information."
"Perhaps they should release the briefing-- I would be very happy if they released the briefing," Pelosi added.
The Code Pinkers and such are HAPPY to see Pafloosie lumped in with Bush, et. al. on the “torture” thing. They wanted to run Cindy Sheehan, or a for-real Bolshevik in Pafloosie’s Menshevik district in SF. If they can’t get her by hook they’ll get her by crook. She is a beast...I think that with the exception of the big cheese hisself, the POtuS, we have never had a ‘Rat more underqualified for service...
Yes, she’s not going to go quietly, which surprises me. They are really hanging her out to dry, and she’s had enough experience around there to know that once that starts to happen, there’s no hope.
With all the descrepancies in her statements we need an investigation of Nancy Pelosi - what did she know and when?
A really odd statement.
It brings to mind a theater commander mentioning to a tactical commander that "We're holding the new super weapon in reserve.", without explanation of the nature and capabilities of the new super weapon to the tactical officer.
Just odd.
The problem is she is being made a scapegoat by Obama. He and his people are trying to destroy her! I can’t believe everyone is buying into it. There is more to this than meets the eye. She kept the secrets for all these years. Rush jokingly said she is a patriot, but she kept the secrets! Not so with the others in Congress.
This is a heck of an opportunity because Pelosii will be attacked from both the left and the right. This is how Bush was destroyed - left and right had reason to be disappointed / angry while Bush had a deaf political ear and played right into their hands and also helped with his liberal policies on immigration, spending, etc. We need to find a similar way to have Obama attacked from both flanks if thats possible.
Obama will put his own pick in as Speaker. Is that good for the country? It is not. People should look at the bigger picture. Obama can’t control her, so he wants his own man in there. That’s what I see. It is so obvious to me. I may be wrong, but it just seems so transparent.

She read a prepared statement. When asked for amplification, she went back to the prepared statement. It smacked of a highly crafted, weaselly, lawyer-written pronouncement. Don’t tell me what the lawyers wrote for you, tell me the truth!.
