Pelosi: Bush briefers lied to me
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Bush administration told her explicitly they weren't using waterboarding on terror detainees during a Sept. 2002 briefing on interrogation tactics -- months after they had begun waterboarding Abu Zabaydah.
Pelosi also called on CIA director Leon Panetta to release full details on her briefing -- and shook her head in the affirmative when asked if the administration had actually "lied" to her.
"The only mention of waterboarding in the briefing was that it was not being employed," she told reporters, reading from a prepared statement -- twice for emphasis.
The intelligence briefers gave Pelosi, she said, "inaccurate and incomplete information."
"Perhaps they should release the briefing-- I would be very happy if they released the briefing," Pelosi added.

He went on the record about two weeks ago. As soon as he heard Pelousy’s remarks he replied, “Put her under oath.”
It would be great to have her locked up for perjury.
Hoyer is a buddy of Rahm Emmanuel. I think BO is involved in this, but through Emmanuel. They must feel that Pelosi isn’t going to be good for various other plans they have, and now they want to dump her.
I think this is to get her out of the Speaker’s job, which she would probably have to resign from if she were under investigation. I wonder who would replace her at that point?
Now she is saying the CIA lied. Not sure that is such a good move. The CIA may be inclined to look into the shady land deals that made her tens of millions of dollars.
I'm sure she has some stuff on the people lining up against her, so this may be "Christmas in May" for the good guys!

Sort of, but I suspect that whoever Obama and Emmanuel replace her with will be equally bad, if not worse, and probably more effective at persecuting and harrassing anyone ever associated with the Bush administration.
I think one of the things that Pelosi did was create too much of a commotion about this; Bambi likes deniability. He likes to be able say, “who, me? Why, I’d never dream of doing something like that...” All the while, of course, somebody else is quietly carrying out the thing he’d “never dream of doing.” And then when everything is in place and he knows he can get away with it, he steps out and launches his attack.
I see your point, but unless they have more on her, she will not go quietly into the night. Very interesting development, nonetheless...
A She said/ He said is one thing when it’s involves a private intimate setting ... but the CIA in congressional briefing with multiple participants that’s recorded to ensure accountability of power?

I'm watching CBS News (yeah, I know...my choices are limited to two channels in my current location, but at least Katie Couric has a fill-in tonight, so I don't have to look at her smirky face or listen to her spin on everything).
Anyway, the fact that CBS decided to cover her "CIA lied to me" bullshit story as one of their top stories means that it is a bit too big to sweep under the rug.
She may well be thrown under the bus, because she obviously can't keep her lies straight.
She is obviously caught in a string of lies that she can't wiggle out of easily, so where the hell are our Republican representatives on this?
Should they not be calling for her to testify under oath?
