WASHINGTON (CNN) — Nicolle Wallace, a top adviser to George W. Bush and John McCain’s presidential campaign, is adding a few names to the list of Republicans who might lead the GOP out of the wilderness.

Top among them? Actor Gary Sinise.

Wallace, writing on The Daily Beast, said she first heard the idea from a fellow Republican.

She also named Generals David Petraeus and Ray Odierno.

What his stance on the following issues:

1. Illegal Immigration

2. Abortion

3. Gay Marriage.

No disrespect intended, but these priorities are exactly why the 'rats will remain in power indefinitely, until the USA is utterly destroyed.

Of that list, #1 is the only issue that should even be on the federal radar. I'm more concerned about the government spending $.46 of every dollar it spends, buying its own debt, mortgaging our childrens' future, killing the Constitution, stealing from the producers to give to the unproductive, and capitulating to terrorists than I am about gay marriage and abortion.

So long as the Right insists on making 2/3 of its federal-level priorities about social and religious issues, we'll never win again.

For the record, I'm against both gay marriage and abortion, but these items need to be dealt with on the state level and we need to get the central government back to the small, limited role it was intended to have.

“Generals David Petraeus”-I sure hope he has some political aspirations-because he is one of the few people smart enough to understand how much trouble we are in-here and abroad. A Petraeus\Palin ticket would be VERY strong.

They can’t be dealt with on the state level unless the federal govt stays out of them...and they don’t seem inclined to. (see Roe V Wade).

If you are talking about Sinise running for an executive type office, I'd agree. But anyone can run for a legislative office, as present and past circumstances have shown. Sinise is a patriot. He has done much for the troops. He has maintained his principles in a profession where the majority despise them and been successful.

I'd have to hear his positions, but as I'm always told here at FR, I am too easily mollified by candidates most here would reject. I wish Sinise good fortune if he chooses this demanding path. And I'm sure he knows that Fortune favors the Bold.

Sinise was born in Blue Island, IL, which is in Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr.’s district. Sinise should move back to Illinois and run for Congress.

Gary Sinise by all accounts seems like a great guy, but I don’t look for a savior in any politician. I just want an honest person who will protect and defend this country and it’s Constitution. A commitment to paring down the leviathan state would be a plus.

The government is supposed to be of the people, not just of the lawyers. OTOH, what to do about Fred Thompason? Lawyer first, accidentally fell into acting as a side job.

For starters, he's an actor, director (I think), musician, Conservative Republican, has been over to entertain the troops many times.
