WASHINGTON, (AP) -- Millions of people jobless. Billions of dollars in bailouts. Trillions of dollars in U.S. debt. And yet, for the first time in years, more Americans than not say the country is on the right track.
In a sign that Barack Obama has inspired hopes for a brighter future in the first 100 days of his presidency, an Associated Press-GfK poll shows that 48 percent of Americans believe the United States is headed in the right direction compared with 44 percent who disagree.
The "right direction" number is up 8 points since February and a remarkable 31 points since October, the month before Obama's election.

Doesn’t AP realize that the election is over and there is no extended recount going on?

an Associated Press-GfK poll shows that 48 percent of Americans believe the United States is headed in the right direction compared with 44 percent who disagree. So 4% more believe that America is headed in the RIGHT direction than believe America is headed in the WRONG direction.
That's nothing to brag about.

Eventually, the misery index will be too high for the pop media to sweep under the rug.

Call me PollyAnna, but I don't believe this many Americans can be this stupid. These numbers have to be phony.
But then, there is Solshenitzin's story; that his fellow Gulag prisoners wept when they learned that Stalin had died.

If you break the polls down, it is very polarized.

44% of those polls are saying the U.S. is on the right track and the Lame Stream Media is heralding this as a positive for Obama????? It amazes me on how a minority of people polled giving tacit approval can be hailed as a victory - unbelievable.
