Revenge of the RINOs (Meghan McCain)
The Daily Beast ^ | 04/19/2009 | Meghan McCain

Republican in Name Only? Try the future of the GOP. The following is Meghan McCain's address to the Log Cabin Republicans Convention—a group that promotes gay issues within the GOP—on April 18, 2009.

Thank you all for having me here tonight. I am thrilled to be able to speak to you this evening to share some of my experiences from the campaign and observations on where our party is today. And I’m proud to tell you there is a special role for the Log Cabin Republicans to play in our future.

The last two years of my life have been an amazing series of moments. Some sad, some thrilling and others mesmerizing. I want to tell you about some of those moments as well as the ones that are yet to come.

I have been humbled by the outpouring of support that I received during the campaign. The tumultuous ride of my father’s quest for the Presidency has been well chronicled. In October, 2007 I launched the site McCainBogette.com. I chose to do my part in telling the campaign’s story from my perspective for a variety of reasons.

First and foremost, I realized my Dad would always have to deal with people perceiving him as “too old” to be President. I know what you’re all thinking: Why would anyone think that? As with many things, reality is sometimes so different from what people perceive.

I know my father better than anyone. And if he could have a 23 year old wiseass like me as a daughter, then that certainly doesn’t make him too old. Someone had to tell the nation that, and I was up to the challenge.

Second, I have been a child of politics since the day I was born.

Breaking free from obsolete positions and providing real solutions that don’t divide our nation further will. That’s why some in our party are scared. They sense the world around them is changing and they are unable to take the risk to jump free of what’s keeping our party down.

Sure, Meghan, the Constitution is obsolete. After all, it was written by a bunch of dead white men, some of whom owned slaves. Why not redefine it?

Your response makes you a somebody in my book. The Republicans have become like a line of sideshows at the carnival. Step right up get your pro choice Republican right hear. If you dont like that show you can walk down the line to the next tent. Step right up and get your pro gay marriage right here. Pay your nickle and come inside.

IIRC, Meghan posted on her Twitter feed recently that she has no time for "haters." In other words, we can all connect with happy hands and sing kum-ba-yah, so long as we agree with her.

By following Obama into the collectivist abyss, by redefining, Meghan (and her father, as he has given his explicit blessing to her "efforts") are poised to lead the Republican Party straight into the dustbin of history. If conservatives do not act quickly to defeat both of them, then the Republican Party will soon join the Whigs, and if we are not careful, the conservative movement will get dragged under too. Shall we "progress" into the thousand years of darkness, or shall we take a stand, here and now, and even if we fail, at least it will be said that conservatives made a stand for America, for freedom, and for the Constitution?

If this idiot speaks for anything Republican, I quit and find a new affiliation. She must be getting paid by some Soros/Rockefeller idiot somewhere. The I.Q. of a bag of hammers, at best.

The Juan McCain Truth File.

*******

John McCain will be too old to run in 2012 and is now politically irrelevant.

Meghan McCain is a twenty-something year old and is as politically irrelevant as any other twenty-something year old.

By concentrating all your energies on bashing the now irrelevant McCains instead of focusing your energies on the Barack Obama that you helped to elect last November, you have gone from being a force destructive to conservative interests in October, 2008 to a force irrelevant to conservative interests in April, 2009.

Congratulations. You are improving.

Be that as it may, you really need to get a life outside of John McCain. You seem to be obsessed with man.

John McCain is no spring chicken and he may wake up dead someday thereby leaving you with no reason to live unless you want to spend the rest of your life bashing his ghost.

John McCain is WAAAAAYYYY past his 15 minutes of fame in our party (which he never deserved to begin with). I don’t see any reason why the blather coming out of his off-spring should given any attention AT ALL.

Well, it does give rabscuttle385 a reason to live.

Without McCain to bash, he has very little to say about anything, even Obama.

Sorry to say I used to belong to the Young Republicans. I got a letter from the McCain group wanting money. I wrote on the letter in a Magic Marker that since his debacle of a campaign I’ve re-registered as an Independent. Sent it back in their pre-paid envelope ....

I don't think it's fair, but it's the truth.

What's the truth? That nearly 70% of the country hates the republican party because they think it's too conservative and/or Christian? Is this from a Newsweek poll?

The BLATHER is useful to the Left, so its non-stop news coverage. Where, oh, where, is what's his name... you know, the new guy? Michael something...

If this petulent airhead is the future of the Republican Party, then I will cease to be a Republican. I pledge no more support for any Republican candidate who will not denounce her “vision” to her pudgy brainless face. They better speak out, or I’m checking out.

Now is the time to just ignore the McCains. They crave attention we shouldn't accommodate them.

Poor Meghan. She went and forgot that she was only pretty face and now thinks her bland of toothless Republicanism is something special. I don’t have a tattoo (as if that proves anything at all), I do like to wear dark colors including black, I have gay friends but that does not mean I wish to have society lift them and their peculiar sexual behavior up as something to aspire to or be proud of. I can be proud of them and respect them without celebrating their peculiar bedroom or restroom practices which is something I care little about except that gay activists will not let the issue drop and continue to use intimidation, threaten lawsuits, push the indoctrination of children, and the corruption of the definition of marriage. As long as they continue doing that I will stand against them. There is nothing particularly backward looking about that. No more than celebrating a group of people who only stand out because they make an issue of their sexual practices is forward looking. They should move forward and move beyond their egos and realize that in the real world you do not have a right to force people to agree with you.

I don’t believe the government should be just efficient because one can be very efficient and doing the wrong thing and if the passing of the bailouts is not example of this then I do not know what is. Our government was originally designed to stay out of the way. The idea that it is to take money as a thief in the night from the citizenry to provide money to serve politician’s every benevolent whim and curry favor with an unproductive infantile underclass is the problem and the government is very efficient at doing that. Republicans that do not understand the value of limited government which is a citizen oriented government are just as big a problem as the Democrats because they spread the disease of having your cake and eating it too.

The arrogate ignorance displayed by Ms. McCain is what we are up against because people like her don’t know the enemy because they don’t bother to find out what the left is doing or has planned and really they don’t have a reason to because if they bothered then they could not enjoy the praise of the left. They don’t know Ann Coulter because they read her books. They know her because of what liberals say about her or the edited clips of her sometimes bombastic and color exchanges with liberals. They reveal their ignorance about issues as they speak to single issue crowds like the log cabin republicans. We conservatives are not single issue oriented. The difference is that our vote is not for sale and we don’t need to be bought off with tax payer loot from the pirates in Washington D.C.

I think government is best when it stays out of people’s lives and business as much as possible.

I agree Meaghan, now tell that to your dad.

And I think half of this site needs to hear that advice. I see as many McCain threads here as Obama threads. I see a lot more McCain threads here than I do about other high or should be high profile republicans. Barbour, Huntsman, Coburn, DeMint, Sanford, Daniels, Pence, Hensarling.
