The beautiful thing about these numbers is that for each one that showed up on Wednesday, there were several others that were unable to make it because of work. This is in stark contrast to the leftist demonstrators who can pour onto the streets on command because they don’t have jobs from which to arrange time off.
Watch what happens if/when we see these events repeat themselves on 4 July. Holiday... warm weather... millions will be in attendance. THAT is what scares the marxists.
Lima, Ohio had 500 attend. Findlay, St. Marys, Minster and a few other Ohio towns had them, too, but I don’t have the count. Maybe someone knows how to find out.

Liberal? Not really. In 2006 when Republicans were getting slaughtered all over the US including Dallas and Houston in Texas, Nueces County, Texas elected its first Republican county judge and first Republican sheriff. In 2008 Republicans won a majority on the commissioner's court for the first time ever, and we won back a seat in the legislature that we lost in 2006. BTW that pick up last year kept Republican control of the Texas House by the barest of margins 76-74.
The pickup of the county judgeship two years ago was rather interesting. As you probably know, the office of county judge in Texas is an executive job not an executive one. Early in 2006 the incumbent announced his retirement from politics. The incumbent sheriff decided to run for county judge. Under Texas law, the sheriff had to resign his position to run for a different office. The new interim sheriff announced his candidacy in the DemocRAT primary for the remaining unexpired term of the office of sheriff. In March 2006 both the outgoing and interim sheriffs won the DemocRAT nominations for the offices for which they ran. In the summer of 2006 the US Marshals removed all federal prisoners from the Nueces County jail due to terrible conditions inside. The county lost millions of dollars in fees housing federal prisoners. Republicans were able to tar both the DemocRAT candidates for county judge and sheriff on this issue. In 2008, Republican sheriff Jim Kaelin won reelection to a full 4-year term with about 60% of the vote.
There was a a large Hispanic presence at the tea party on Wednesday. Quite a number of upwardly mobile Hispanics are not happy about the high property tax rates in Nueces county. They also no longer buying into the ethnic loyalty game that the "Robstown Mafia" uses to exert disproportional influence over county government. This town of just 13,000 has controlled the expenditures of a county of about 300,000 people by using ethnic identity politics. But recent actions by the commissioners court until recently controlled by the "Robstown Mafia" have really outraged voters of all stripes in Nueces county. They authorized the building of an expensive new county fair grounds near Robstown without a vote by county voters. Sure the old fair grounds either needed to be upgraded or replaced, and Robstown was a logical place to put them, but the Taj Mahal they built is so expensive that many organizations go other nearby counties whose facilities are cheaper to rent to hold events. The county has to pay tens of thousands of dollars a day to maintain these facilities.
Then after that the commissioners authorized the building of a new $20 million minor league baseball stadium adjacent to the fair grounds, also without a vote. They did this even though the City of Corpus Christi had already committed to building a minor league stadium in Corpus Christi in what used to be the warehouse district near the ship channel. Once Corpus Christi got it's minor league team, the team in Robstown folded, because they don't have the population base to support a minor league team. Nueces county tax payers are left holding the bag on an empty baseball stadium and pay thousands of dollars a day to maintain it. It doesn't end there. Robstown politicians want to build a new $30 million convention center near Robstown. They think that they can justify it, because Robstown is a "crossroads" and they are near the geographical center of the county. It is true that they are near the intersection of an interstate highway and a US highway that is being upgraded to interstate standards. So what! They don't have the hotel rooms or cultural amenities necessary for a convention center. If I belonged to an organization that would book a convention center in Robstown instead of any other town in Texas, I would raise hell with the people in charge and get whoever made such choice fired. Also it really isn't in the geographical center. It's about a third of the way from the western border of the county to Corpus Christi bay. Robstown is even further away from the center of population of the county. Fortunately for now the new county commissioners are blocking this proposed convention center.
In summary, Nueces county is trending Republican, and is almost dead even in party voting. Republicans have taken away a majority on the commissioner's court by the "Robstown Mafia". The county judge from Robstown who retired in 2007 was replaced by the former mayor of Corpus Christi. The former sheriff from Robstown got beat running for county judge. The interim sheriff from Robstown also got beat in 2006 when he ran for the unexpired term of the previous sherrif. The new sheriff just got reelected to a full term with about 60% of the vote. Finally Obama lost Nueces county in 2008.
Flora, IL with no publicity had 60-70 citizens show up at the City Hall for a rally over the noon hour, April 15.
