Tea Party Total Head Count Thread (Post Your Attendance Numbers Here)
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 04/15/2009 3:08:47 PM PDT by kristinn

I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.

I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.

Please give the location and number of participants.

I'll go first:

Melbourne, FL - 1000.

"Conservatives in Colorado Springs and in cities across the country rallied Wednesday to protest bailouts, handouts, earmarks and a host of other government sins real or perceived.

About 1,500 gathered in Acacia Park downtown to hear speakers rail against stimulus spending, budget deficits, mortgage relief and efforts to repair the financial market...."

Big time news! Pinging the Alabama list for results!

To those attending the Birmingham Rally tonight, good luck!

LibertyRocks, there were many unadvertised small events across the nation that I've read about. In total, there have been (my estimate) 2500 some-odd different protests, many in the same large towns that went missing in the logs on the Internet.

I'm guessing that a thorough tracking of the number of people protesting today would be very close to 4.2 million.

According to WHOI, the police gave the crowd at 3,000 in Peoria on a warm, spring day.

Of course, Peoria only has 110,000 people, so that’s a good turnout.

Edenton, North Carolina(pop. 5900),
400 to 500. Weather cool and damp.

That is most excellent!
I heard from one of my Facebook friends that it was about 600.

BTW: I've met the organizer and he seems like a great guy.

2000 plus was talked about right here on FR, and posted on at least two other websites that were attempting to track them all.

Land of Lincoln who freed the slaves and Land of Obama who enslaved the free

Velveeta, I note that you're not currently sporting a tagline....may I suggest your own fine words as your new one?

A participant at the Wilmington, DE, party said her husband was at the Philadelphia one and estimated only 200. :-(

Sad to hear that from the birthplace of the Republic.

I don’t know if this was posted yet, but Madison, Wisconsin had between 5000 and 6000 people.

Tucson, AZ, 2000+
(leftist paper reported that number — surprisingly seems accurate -— and I would concur, based on visual scan)

Washington DC 2000-3000.

Heavy rain, so probably a lower than expected turnout.

There were four or five plus TEA Parties around the northwest Ohio area, but don’t know where to get numbers.

(couldn’t go, had to work to pay taxes-—I think ‘til August now)
