Charged with murder or not, I bet there is an investigation to determine if the SEALS fired because they had to or wanted to.

Agree with your assessment that the response was tepid. He complimented th captain’s courage, perhaps bolstered by desparation, but as far as I know did little to acknowledge the Seals, nor any Navy officers.

It’s almost as if he’s apologetic for the end result.
