A friend and co-worker, Marshall Rose, is also 6'7". He was always annoyed at the halogen pole lamp in my office. The fixture was at 6 ft with light directed upward. Marshall was just all enough to have a direct line of sight to the halogen bulb. Ouch.

The White House is implying that Obama likes the two-hand clasp -- that is, Obama shakes your hand, and then puts his other hand over the shaken hand, usually as a sign of dominance. He either double-shakes, or he puts his other hand on the other person's free arm while shaking hands.

It's a power thing, but you kinda give up the power aspect when bowing during it.
