As we enter April 2009 we are being bombarded by the media hyping up the first 100 days of President Obama I thought it would be nice to look back at the first 100 days of George W Bush Presidency.
The White House Website for the Bush Administration had a photo essay for the first 100 days which I am sure will provoke fond memories.
At the weekend I will post photos covering the first 2 weeks of April 2001 which once again I am sure will make us all feel nostalgic for the President we supported, respected and trusted to keep us safe for the last 8 years. Later this month I will post photos from the second half of Aril 2001 plus a selection of other photos that I am sure will be breath of fresh air and produce fond memories.
First of all before the photos I will post the text of remarks that George W Bush made at a Congressional Luncheon marking the first 100 days of the Bush Adminstration - ah those were the days.
I will also post some photos I have found of the Bush family for March 2009 including some of the former First Lady.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
(Others also, natch, but right now I'm typing to You within the cadence/context of DR. Deb's B-Day greeting!!:)

My husband and I heard the same thing . . . Initially, we thought he was ‘over-miked’; however, it soon become obvious that he was struggling ‘abit . . . Since I haven’t heard anything to indicate that he is suffering from a serious medical condition, I’m going to assume that he has some allergy issues — it’s that time of year in DC!

“that he has some allergy issues...”
I hope that’s all it is. With his heart condition, it worries me.

(PRESIDENT) BUSH RETURNS FOR HALL OF FAME DINNER, INDUCTION
I learned a lot here one, not to try and be a big shot. Principles matter more than popularity. Popularity is fleeting, but principles are forever. Many of the principles I (kept) in public life I learned in Midland.
You can read the rest of the story here: [Ignore the comments — they’ve been written by the crazies who frequent leftist blogs which have linked this article . . . Midland LOVES President Bush!]

GEORGE BUSH’S MOST CONTROVERSIAL DECISIONS
April 24, 2009
By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers
As George W. Bush continues to pen the book on his presidency, friends say that his goal is to focus on 10 to 12 of his most controversial decisions and provide the background that will prove he was right at the time. “As he researches and reviews meeting notes, he plans to provide the context of what was happening when he was deciding,” says a friend. Take the deficit as an example. Yes, he expanded it. But the prez wants to explain that 9/11 and the wars that followed required it and that he wasn’t on some drunken spending binge. The book is due out in the fall of 2010.
[I’m VERY GLAD that the President plans to counter the lies about his ‘spending’ spread by both the left and right!!]

With the ‘100 Day’ marker coming up this next week, the MSM is working overtime to manufacture polls that grossly inflate the Messiah’s supposed ‘popularity’ . . . Don’t fall for a word of it!!
THE AP ‘WE WEEEEEEALY LOVE OBAMA’ POLL:
Flopping Aces does a great job destroying this pathetically biased poll.
46% Total Democrat
28% Total Republican

THE FOXNEW/OPINION DYNAMICS ‘WE’RE GROSSLY INCOMPETENT’ POLL:
[Opinion Dynamics was the only ‘major’ pollster to completely ‘blow’ the 2004 presidential race. They were also one of the lowest rated pollsters during the 2008 presidential race.]
42% Democrat
30% Republican

NOTE: You won’t read/hear the following from the MSM:
2 POLLS TODAY: OBAMA LESS POPULAR THAN GW BUSH AFTER 100 DAYS
Two different polls released today show that radical Barack Obama is less popular than George W. Bush was after 100 days.

I have Your, M I T L, Birhday gifs/gift finds and/or greetings up on my FR page if You want to see!!! Page and Links Allotment!!!
In case You wanna see!!!
At almost end of FR Page...and/or the 4.19.09 links in FR links:)
Thanks for the great links. I regret not being able to go
to the dedication....I think all the oil men “hogged” the
tickets! LOL! I am sure he was well-received in Midland
and felt the love!
President Bush will tell his story in his own way and in
his time....he has very good timing. And there will be no
dirt found clinging to him or his administration!
I could hear him struggling for breath and wheezing and I
commented on it to my hubby at the time!
I guess that his on-going health problems, ie. his heart,
cause this. I pray that he’ll be ok.
I’m so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. But, if as you say, it was a blessing, I pray for peace for your family.
My guess was a chest infection, I noticed he took a drink of water several times. I know in Britain there are a lot about our receptionist daughter has a nasty one and is worried she may miss her mock exams
Here is an article I found about Dick Cheney on line seems he likes Starbuck’s coffee :o)
http://www.mercurynews.com/politics/ci_12230174?source=rss
From the article: “In the three months since leaving office, Cheney has upended the old Washington script for former presidents and vice presidents, using a series of interviews...”
No, this isn’t true. Jimmy Carter hasn’t quit criticizing Republicans yet; Bill Clinton continued talking to the press and criticizing the Bush administration until Papa Bush said he would tell about the Clinton administration; and Al Gore spent the first 4 years criticizing the Bush administration. The media conveniently forgets these things.
PRESIDENT BUSH HAS GIFTED US WITH A WONDERFUL ANTIDOTE TO THE OBAMA COVERAGE TODAY:
BUSH SURPRISES SMU JOURNALISM STUDENTS
