The Obamas to eat what they grow
The Obama family plan to eat what they grow in the White House in the future
US First Lady Michelle Obama is set to break the ground for an organic garden on a patch of the south lawn to grow produce for the White House kitchen.
Local primary school pupils will help her with the planting and harvesting of the vegetables, herbs and salad crops.
Promoting healthy eating for American families has become a part of the first lady's agenda.
She has promised her whole family will be getting involved, and even President Barack Obama will help with weeding. Mrs Obama hopes that inspiring children will help spread the healthy eating message to others.
"My hope is that through children, they will begin to educate their families and that will, in turn, begin to educate our communities," she said in an interview in her East Wing office.

What a genius idea to put a beehive in the middle of the garden. I wonder if Michelle’s going to be picking any of that produce and dodging pi**ed off bees? Somehow, when she says “we are going to make our own honey”, I suspect she doesn’t actually mean “we”.
Let’s see, elementary school kids forced to prepare the ground, plant the crop, harvest the crop. I wonder how many child labor laws have been broken?

Bunch of sharecroppers Sharecroppers had to pay the property owner for use of the property. Instead, the owners of the property are being taxed to death by the sharcroppers.

Oh, how quaint. They are just like me and my wife with our little garden. Not quite. You and your wife do not have the power of Corvée

"How organic-will they be composting their WH waste in this garden as well? WEll not all the waste...that would be way too much and too toxic."
The BS from Barack alone is so rank only the useless and annoying weeds of America are likely yo flourish.

Ha! I can see it now;a closed van drives in by the bac way ,and under cover of dusk, professional gardners quickly transplant full-grown plants heavy with produce.Next morning the press conference and "arvest" is held for a gullible public.
How long since B.O. 's ACORN constituents tried to grow something that couldn't be smoked?

They’re going to eat what they grow? They’ll starve.
They’re going to eat what some White House staff person grows.

Our local news carried this and Meshell Mybell in her tribal garment had drugged a bunch of kids with Ritlin and they showed her how to use a spade to roll back the sod. They held a Pow Wow and decided on Rattlesnake watermelon over Charleson Grey and Sugar Baby which was a surprise to me...

From the
Washington Post article:
The collection of crops, a wishlist from White House kitchen staff, will include lettuces, squash, fennel, rhubarb, cucumbers and sweet and hot peppers.
More than one kind of lettuce = "lettuces"
