Congressman Dan Burton To President Obama, Senator Dodd:
Give Back The Campaign Donatons You Received From AIG Corp.
Washington, DC) Congressman Dan Burton (R-Indiana) has called upon President Obama and Senator Christopher Dodd to return campaign donations they willing received from the AIG Coporation in their previous political campaigns.
Speaking with Talk Show Host Austin Hill on Washington, DC's 630 WMAL Radio, Burton, who called-in to Hill's show, commented on demands from his congressional colleauges that AIG Executives return bonus money paid to them by their employer, and the efforts underway in Congress to legislatively single-out the 73 executives for a possible 80% or 100% taxation of those bonuses.
When asked by Hill if the legislation targetting the 73 private citizens could be stopped, Rep. Burton conceded that the legislation may be unstoppable, but reiterated that the government failed to "set the parameters" of how AIG's bailout funds were to be used, and, additionally, that the government never should have handed-over "bailout funds" to AIG in the first place.
Burton also stated his support for Hill's proposal that President Obama and Senator Christopher Dodd, the top two recipients of AIG campaign donations in previous elections, should return those donations, adding that the President and the Senator need to demonstrate that their respective stances with AIG "are not being influenced" by political campaign dollars.

If it wasn’t for the whole Obama destroying America thing— being in the minority is kind of fun.
Austin Hill, a conservative radio talk show host, is subbing this week for Chris Plante on 630 WMAL in Washington, DC. Austin had Rep. Dan Burton on his show this morning, Wed., March 18th. Audiofile attached (linked above).
Good!
630 WMAL Ping.
Interesting audio from Rep. Dan Burton as he called-in this morning to the Chris Plante Show on WMAL (subbing this week is Austin Hill).
If I recall correctly, Senator McCain took 50K which should be returned, as well.
By July 4, 2009 maybe we could have an Impeachment Party on the mall in lieu of the Million Man/Woman/Child Washington DC Tea Party planned!
Good! Hit ‘em again. Harder!
“If it wasnt for the whole Obama destroying America thing being in the minority is kind of fun.”
That would make a great tagline.
Any who received money should give it back.
DEMOCRATS got the BULK of AIG’s MOney.....hmmmmmm....wonder WHY??
‘bout time someone said it! And how about fannie and freddie bonuses!! If congress is going to play this game then play it!!!

Should be interesting what Obama’s teleprompter tells him to say on this one.
Calling for them to give back campaign donations?
How about calling for their impeachment and prosecution?
Get the popcorn, this will be good, Dodd will vapor lock if he has to return the money.
Good ideal, let all of the POS in both parties write a check to the treasury department.
In a related issue, the Indianapolis RINO’s are lining up to run against Dan Burton in the 2010 GOP Primary.
Looks like this guy has a pair.
If McCain took money, as well, yes, he should also return it.
