I thought liberals wanted free healthcare?

They do...... but they get to pick and choose who gets it.

Looks to me like the plan is to make health care so expensive...that we will beg for it to be "free".

They want to tax our employer health care benefits now....and they want veterans to get insurance.

As far as veterans go....I'd give up some of my benefits to pay for theirs. Besides that....there is so much waste in Vet Hospitals it's not even funny. Why have special Vet Hospitals anyway?

I used to live in SoCal....we had a huge Vet Hospital...right near another huge hospital. I swear you could see the curvature of the earth while looking down a hallway of the Vet Hospital...and they had multiple floors that were EMPTY!

Just crazy..........

But the proposal would be “dead on arrival” if it’s sent to Congress, Sen. Patty Murray, D-Washington, said.

As much as Patty Murray was when she arrived in Washington D.C.....

During the GW years, the demons kept complaining that Bush wasn’t doing enough for the vets. I guess it depends on what your definition of enough is.

If it’s “dead on arrival”, why bring it up? Are they delberately trying to p*ss everybody off, thinking that they just might sneak one through?
Just when you think LIBs/SOCs can’t sink any lower, they reach new depths.

It's called a "trial balloon". They like this idea, and other similar ones. They float this idea, saying it has "no chance"... but if the outcry isn't bad enough to cost many Dem seats, they'll tinker with it, and push it through. They know that the silent majority only has the stomach for so much complaining per year... so if they can find a soft spot, or a time when they're sick of being dismayed and annoyed, they'll push a few more across.

"So, Mr. Smith, you have residual problems from the North Vietnamese shrapnel still in your body. That is what we in the insurance business call a 'pre-existing condition'."

Hey, Queen Nancy’s VIP aircraft costs money, and ACORN is woefully underfunded-and our Emperor can’t be expected to go a week without a well-deserved rest somewhere just a helicopter and airplane ride away......And we need $100 million to fund poetry slams for crack babies.....I can’t believe our wounded vets could be selfish enough to object....

The VA already does this. I was charged by the VA for meds they gave me, although I was combat vet and 30% disabled (PTSD Viet Nam). If anyone fantasizes about government run health care, just go to the VA. A truly insulting experience.

I think you have just nailed it. This is part of an attempt to drive everyone into the arms of government healthcare. No private insurer is going to dream of insuring service related injuries, and Bambi knows it.

WHAT THE ____!?! I'd expect practically anything from a man who, like another HUSSEIN, demands that the use of his name always be preceded by the title "President", but THIS? NOW??

IMPEACH THIS B@STARD!
