WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance.

Although I protest some government expenditures as illegitmate. Providing for the common defense is a necessary task for taxation. I proudly pay all my taxes for our military and the care and treatment of our service members. I am really really upset at this!!

This POS pres(no id)ent must think that we who have SRD’s are feeble and unable to do anything. He sure has another thing coming, because we are the ones who know how and are willing to fight for our country and our rights! I knew his talk about Veteran’s care during the campaign was BS, but many of the vets I saw were blinded by his rhetoric; they will be the fastest to turn on him.
How can the constitution outlaw this guy and noone in power does a damn thing?
He needs to be removed ASAP!

Shinseki never was for the troops. He like Weasley Clark were all about their political promotions. A pox on all senior officers who do this to the good men (and women) fighting and dying for the rest of us.

I was one of those troops myself but i retired during the waning days of democratic primary..
And I see this as the start of erosion of the benefits of serving for almost 23 years.
It took 7 1/2 months for me to get my Veterans Administration review and get the disability that the doctors were suggesting I had before I left. Now.. under this mess.. I would be re-evaluated... so what.. to loose my benefits?
My retirement is going to be taxed more.. and I signed up for Tri-Care and pay a monthly fee for that too... Now.. I am being told that the bean counters want me to pay almost 237% more in premiums for that also.
I served under Four US Presidents.. and the first one after that.. Is basically saying.. I have to pay more...
I write my Representative and my senators. but they are under the same party as the President and agree with him. That is not freedom....
I think I will make ANOTHER phone call to those offices.. at least i can be a nuisance to their phone system.. and express that I can not understand why government wishes me to suffer.. While they grow Government to “save” the country.
I am a little surprised because this is like the “Bring back the Draft” grenade. Some people talk about it, but in the end it gets voted down BIG for fear of losing the next election.

...if that’s what this government thinks of those that have really sacrificed for the Republic what are its final thoughts on the our parents the aged, the infirm, the criminal element parasites that constantly bleed off treasure while contributing no socially redeeming values?
