Just name the day...
that you like the best;
any day you say!
but my day of rest.
Oh you can kiss me on a Monday
a Monday a Monday is very very good
Or you can kiss me on a Tuesday
a Tuesday a Tuesday in fact I wish you would!

You’re Gonna Miss This
Trace Adkins
She was staring out that window, of that SUV
Complaining, saying I can’t wait to turn 18
She said I’ll make my own money, and I’ll make my own rules
Mamma put the car in park out there in front of the school
Then she kissed her head and said I was just like you
-Chorus-
You’re gonna miss this
You’re gonna want this back
You’re gonna wish these days hadn’t gone by so fast
These Are Some Good Times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you’re gonna miss this
Before she knows it she’s a brand new bride
In a one-bedroom apartment, and her daddy stops by
He tells her It’s a nice place
She says It’ll do for now
Starts talking about babies and buying a house
Daddy shakes his head and says Baby, just slow down
-Chorus-
You’re gonna miss this
You’re gonna want this back
You’re gonna wish these days hadn’t gone by so fast
These Are Some Good Times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you’re gonna miss this
Five years later there’s a plumber workin’ on the water heater
Dog’s barkin’, phone’s ringin’
One kid’s cryin’, one kid’s screamin’
She keeps apologizin’
He says They don’t bother me.
I’ve got 2 babies of my own.
One’s 36, one’s 23.
Huh, it’s hard to believe, but ...
-Chorus-
You’re gonna miss this
You’re gonna want this back
You’re gonna wish these days hadn’t gone by so fast
These Are Some Good Times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you’re gonna miss this
You’re gonna miss this
Yeah, you’re gonna miss this
The cd of the day in the car was Levon Helm’s Dirt Farmer.

I Dreamed About Mama Last Night
Hank Williams
I’ve just been to heaven with someone so true
I dreamed about mama last night
She read me the Bible like she used to do
I dreamed about mama last night
She never close her eyes to sleep till we were all in bed
And on party nights when we come home she often sat and read
We little thought about it then for we were young and gay
Just how much mama worried when we children were away
We only knew she never slept when we were out at night
That she waited just to know that we’d all come home alright
Why sometimes when we’d stay away till one or two or three
It seemed to us that mama heard the turnin’ of the key
For always when we’d step aside she’d call and we’d reply
But we were all too young back then to understand the reason why
Until the last one had returned she’d always keep a light
For mama couldn’t sleep until she kissed us all goodnight
She had to know that we were safe before she went to rest
She seemed to fear that the world might harm the ones that she loved the best
And once she told me when you’re grown to women and to men
Perhaps I’ll sleep the whole night through I may be different then
And so it seemed that night and day we knew a mother’s care
That always when we got back home we’d find her waitin’ there
Then came the night that we were called together round her bed
The children’re all with you now the kindly doctor said
And in her eyes the gleam again that old time tender light
That told that she’s just been waitin’ to know that we were alright
She smiled that old familiar smile and prayed to God to keep
Her children safe from harm throughout the years tand then she went to sleep
My dream is a treasure that I’ll always keep I dreamed about mama last night

Saturday...in the park...I think it was the Fourth of July!
When I was a little girl, my parents bought their first house. One afternoon, the family hopped into the car and drove to see where we soon would be living.
I couldnt believe it. The house had no windows or doors, and there was a strange odor. The basement was clearly visible through big gaps in the floor and we had to climb a ladder to get down there.
That night when I asked my mother why they wanted to live in a house like that, she explained that the builder wasnt finished with it yet. Just wait and see, she said. I think youll like it when its done.
Soon we began to see changes. The house got windows, then doors. The funny smell of new lumber faded. The holes in the floor were covered and a staircase was added. Walls were painted. Mom put up curtains at the windows and pictures on the walls. The incomplete house had been transformed. It had taken some time but finally it was finished.
As Christians, we need finishing too. Although the groundwork is laid at our conversion, the growing process continues throughout our life. As we obediently follow Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Heb. 12:2), one day we too will be complete.
