'Obama is overwhelmed.' (Obama ally says he's "too tired")
National Review ^ | Sunday, March 08, 2009 | Jim Geraghty

Perhaps it's just some Obama ally speaking out of school. But these are probably some of the most terrifying words to come from an unidentified source in some time:

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president's surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.

A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama's inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to "even fake an interest in foreign policy".

The American source said: "Obama is overwhelmed. There is a zero sum tension between his ability to attend to the economic issues and his ability to be a proactive sculptor of the national security agenda.

"That was the gamble these guys made at the front end of this presidency and I think they're finding it a hard thing to do everything."

It's at moments like this I'm reminded of this assessment of Obama, back in 2007: "I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training."

That assessment came from . . . Vice President Joe Biden.

Yes, George W. Bush got to the office on time every morning, early, and worked all day. It’s called a WORK ETHIC. He made some mistakes, but he gave it his all.

Trouble is, 0’Bambi is giving it his all too.....and cannot even sit in his chair all day much less do his job. Or even “fake an interest in foreign policy.” Not much of an all, is it?

***Cut him some slack.

It’s his very first job***

That would be knee slapping funny if it wasn’t ABSOLUTELY TRUE...

with the result being the entire planet’s fanny is now in a sling.

Not far from the tree here, remember, his own father couldn’t handle bringing up one kid.

I don’t want to over-dramatize things, but this is falling apart faster than I could have imagined.

...failed so far to "even fake an interest in foreign policy"

...except for the Muslim sector!

#1--His first phone interview after becoming president is to the Al Jazeera Network.

#2--His first European country to visit will be Muslim Turkey.

A disturbing pattern is definitely developing!

Time to resign. That will settle the eligibility controversy for now.

GEEZ, didn’t he understand that America was going to expect him to do the job? What exactly did he think it was going to be like? Didn’t he notice that presidents tend age faster than anyone else? No voting “present” when you are the executive.

You forgot the last part: And then take credit for it. That's what dems do.

Hey, that's better than what we have now.

Too tired? Any mannered, well-brought-up ditchdigger coming off a 24 hour shift would have displayed better hospitality than Obama did for Brown. Low class will out.

If he's not up to the job... he can turn it over to Biden.

“Winston Churchill, who Obama detests for the heavy criticism that he penned about Muslims in North Africa.”

I read it was because Winston tortured Barry’s Kenyan Mau Mau grandfather. At least Barry is loyal to his native land!
