OK, now that this article has been proven false and misleading, what is your opinion?

Where do you fall out on this issue?

I heard you can pick anyone for the Supreme Court even for the SCOTUS. A person off the street could be picked. She didn’t have to pick an abortionist. She is a loser for picking the abortionist.

And plus, any thing written by that fat Murkowski hack Dan Fagan and posted here on FR is immediately suspect.

Gov. Palin called for information and reviewed it in order to make the best choice available to her between the two choices.

I agree with her choice. As governor of AK, she had to weigh the interests of the state regarding possible environmental decisions that would have an effect on the whole state against the possibility that a decision could be handed down about abortion, which affects laws, but demands some personal responsibility from the individual.

I hope you’ve learned your lesson about posting articles and having an opinion. /s

Seriously, I don’t know why you’re getting nailed. Do you have a history of dismissing Palin? Just curious.

Article 4, § 5 of the Alaska Constitution: "The governor shall fill any vacancy in an office of supreme court justice or superior court judge by appointing one of two or more persons nominated by the judicial council."

Doesn't look like Palin had much of a choice.

EternalVigilance, you can report back to Soros, Axelrod, 0bama, or whoever you work for, and they’ll give you your check.

You are a little late though, since this was all hashed out yesterday, and most people here are smart enough to fall for this load of BS. This puts you in the good company of the LA Times who now sites “commenters” on the ADN website as sources of information.

Under Alaska law the judicial council made up mostly of liberal lawyers gets to filter out candidates who do not hold a leftist background. The governor must pick from the names forwarded.

Give me pause? Doesn't anyone read?? She didn't have much choice under Alaska law. End of story.

This is a media phony issue to drum up social conservatives to turn on Palin. They fear her.

Moving on....

From another thread on this issue:

"In Alaska the Judicial Council considers 6 candidates and then narrows it down to 2. These two are then submitted to the Governor where one has to be chosen. The Governor is not permitted any other choices. (Governor Murkowski tried to throw it back to the Judicial Council and he was rebuffed.)"

Lesser of two evils; Sarah had no choice.

So make your case for her only other choice which was Eric Smith.

Give us your sales points on him and why he was a better choice.

Your credibility is suffering a body blow on this thread, I hope that your presentation on him is good.

HSe has effectively permanently lost my support. A nomination to any supreme court is usually for life and the most important opportunity to have the constitution interpreted correctly.

You warn about everyone, EV. Sooner or later a conservative is going to disappoint, that's a given, we're all human. It doesn't make you at all correct or right.

Frankly, I'd say in terms of political success for conservatives, you're one of the most misguided people EVER.

And what is interesting about perpetually negative people like yourself, is your belief that you have some special kind of understanding about reality that few others possess, making you smarter and wiser than everyone else, when what it really is, is one huge, big fat ego.

Somehow, I don't think Governor Palin's supporters will tolerate it.

EV, I just found something interesting..

Considering you are asking us to trust Dan Fagan about this, should we trust Dan Fagan in what he says about Dr. Keyes?

Seems only fair, doesn’t it?
