Culture of conspiracy: The Birthers (mainstream decides to cover)
Politico ^ | 3-1-09 | Ben Smith

Bill Clinton had the Vince Foster "murder." George W. Bush had 9/11 Truth. And the new administration has brought with it a new culture of conspiracy: The Birthers.

Out of the gaze of the mainstream and even the conservative media is a flourishing culture of advocates, theorists and lawyers, all devoted to proving that Barack Obama isn't eligible to be president of the United States.

Viewed as irrelevant by the White House, and as embarrassing by much of the Republican Party, the subculture still thrives from the conservative website WorldNetDaily, which claims that some 300,000 people have signed a petition demanding more information on Obama's birth, to Cullman, Alabama, where Sen. Richard Shelby took a question on the subject at a town hall meeting last week.

Their confinement to the fringe hasn't cooled the passion of believers; the obscure New York preacher James Manning turned up at a National Press Club session in December to declare the president "the most notorious criminal in the history not just of America, but of this entire planet."

“This suit, like all of the others that have been filed challenging Obama’s qualifications for the Presidency, is frivolous,” he said in an email to POLITICO, adding that he is, in fact, working pro bono. “There is absolutely no truth to the stories about the untold millions supposedly being paid to us,” he said. “

This Politico piece sure has me thinking
that it’s really making the WH nervous,
and they’re laying out the peremptory
groundwork.

If the quest continues, something may
finally happen that unravels the mysteries.

What I find somewhat fascinatinng is the esemblance physically that Obama has to Malcolm X when X was the same age.

There are plenty of grandmothers on FR, all who have observedthe distribution of genetic traits among several generations of their own kin. And they have a serious hunch about X being Obamas dad.

Its interestig to read this , simply because Ann may have been in New York city when X visited wih Ccastro in 1960, and may have been in the circles where she an X would have met.

We see a very extenuated theory here, all because Obama refuses to release his COLB information. I believe that US citizens have a right to see it under Article II, section 1 of the constitution, with the 10th amendment in aid, in the absence of the exercise of that right by the federal government or any state government, that right now rests with the people.

And we are asking.

and we are suing.

We WILL eventually have a copy of Obamas COLB.

The dig at Tariz about getting an online law degree is really funny because as everyone knows she had to pass the bar.

Yes, the California state bar exam. But hell, even Christine Kraft managed to pass it on her third or fourth attempt. The American Bar Association has not accredited her online law school, and California is the only state in the Union that allows its graduates to practice law.

Not terribly inspiring if you ask me.

Perhaps he was born in Hawaii. His mother was an extreme left winger. It would not be unexpected to find that she had Obama adopt the nationality of his step father i.e. Indonesian. That would call his legitimacy as president into question.

There was no way for Obama to have lost his US citizenship while he was a minor. Not even through the act of a parent, or by way of adoption.

Just letting you know your steaming piles thinly disguised as “comments” are herewith being ignored by me (and many others who are actual conservatives).

Thanks for posting this, and I think that there will be more and more “msm” articles about this. Still slanted, biased, mocking and so on. Because more and more people are really learning about it, there has to be some reaction in the msm. It’ll be interesting.

1. Nobody knows because it hasn't been seen, the one put on the web was an unsigned no information that would be on a real BC.

It was indeed signed, by Alvin T. Onaka, Ph.D., the registrar for the state of Hawaii.

The COLB on the internet is a clear fake.

There's not one shred of credible evidence that it is anything other than the genuine article.

“Kreep has been battling Obama’s California lawyer, Fredric Woocher, to release the president’s records from Occidental College on the theory that they might provide information about his citizenship.

Woocher has threatened to seek sanctions against Kreep for pursuing the case.

“This suit, like all of the others that have been filed challenging Obama’s qualifications for the Presidency, is frivolous,” he said in an email to POLITICO, adding that he is, in fact, working pro bono. “There is absolutely no truth to the stories about the untold millions supposedly being paid to us,” he said.”

Wooch ain’t the only attorney helping 0bama and the DNC with this issue. If Wooch is working pro bono, I would assume there are records of this since he is essentially donation his time to 0bama.

Let’s see your rebuttal of Polarik’s analysis.

Oh, if you can’t refute it, your asinine smoke blowing isn’t fooling anyone. You can “say” there is no evidence, but if you are so sure that it is genuine, pray offer proof, which would include proving that Polarik’s essay is wrong.

McCain produced his long form original birth certificate for all to see. Why doesn't Barack Hussien Obama aka Barry Soetoro do the same?

McCain did no such thing.

The images on the Internet that people keep claiming is McCain's original birth certificate was provided by a rather shady character named Donald Lamb. They were used AGAINST McCain by Hollander in his eligibility lawsuit against McCain.

The certificate says that McCain was born in the Colon Hospital, in Colon, Panama. This directly contradicts McCain's claim that he was born in the family hospital at the Coco Solo Naval Air Station.

McCain and his lawyers have specifically refuted the claim he was born in the Colon Hospital.

McCain never provided anything for the general public to view. Therefore, he never even provided as much as Obama had.

Please get your facts straight.

I'll bet that your sister's birth certificate, though it may be computer generated, at least bears the proper authentication (clerk's certification stamp/seal). If Obama's had been authenticated, this topic would not still be simmering.

Obama's certificate does bear the proper authentication, i.e. the registrar's certification stamp and seal.

You are assuming that Hawaii is up to speed on past documentation input to a central database, sorry after being in the mil and working on gov operations and 17+ years in the IT industry, there is no state that is doing that with any dedicated hurry to digitalize everything.

23 years ago, when I was 26 years old, I sent for a copy of my birth certificate from the state of Texas. What I received was essentially the same as Obama received. A short form that just had the most basic information on it. The form was pre-printed, and the fields filled in by a dot matrix printer.

Again, this was 23 years ago.

So what exactly makes you think that in 2009, Hawaii wouldn't already have had most, if not all of their birth registrations in a digital database?

Maybe the Birth Certificate says:

Father Frank Marshall Davis

But then that could only work in his favor with regard to constitutional eligibility. If the birth certificate says Davis was the father, then there would be no reason for her to have been in Kenya in order to give birth to Obama there as others have claimed.

He, supposedly, provided a scanned image of a Certification of Live Birth, and there is some evidence that the image was altered after being scanned in.

No, there's no credible evidence of any such thing.
