Fluffy Toilet Paper Said to Be Worse for Environment Than Hummers
Friday , February 27, 2009
That super-soft toilet paper you're fond of using? It's an ecological disaster, environmentalists say.
Millions of trees are harvested throughout the Americas including rare old-growth forests in Canada to sustain the United States obsession with quilted, ultra-soft, multi-ply toilet paper, the New York Times reported.
Although toilet paper manufacturers could produce products from recycled materials at a similar cost, the newspaper reported, the fiber taken from standing trees are necessary to help give the tissue its fluffy feel.
No forest of any kind should be used to make toilet paper, said Dr. Allen Hershkowitz, a senior scientist and waste expert with the Natural Resource Defense Council told the Times.

One day a BIGGG dozer comes along, towing a roller with big teeth, mulching the stumps, and all else. That was probably a D9 Cat pulling a water filled drum chopper. I used to work in the forest industry. I've worked it from cruising the timber, harvesting, milling including paper mills to replanting.
That's why I knew the good doctor was full of...........fluffy sheets of soiled paper.

Sears...Will you please print up your Sears catalog again...we might need it for our new OUTHOUSES.
Wait... those NUTCASES would complain about the SEARS catalog.
I guess we have to ask the Charmin Bears and ask them what they used before.

“it stops when we DEFEAT LIBERALISM.”
“Environmental” groups have effective control of Washington, through an alliance with the Democratic Party. When enough people are convinced this nonsense isn’t necessary to save the Earth, perhaps we can get rid of some of the environmental whores on Capitol Hill.

Here in the land where a lot of TP is manufactured, the paper company tree planting generates a net gain in trees. While there’s not a great deal of tree diversity, you can drive miles & miles seeing paper company “forests” & most of the clear cutting of old growth was done nearly a century ago.

60% of all wood products used in the US, including toilet paper, comes from the 13 Southern states and a lot of this 60% of harvested wood comes from tree farms. Plus these tree farms remove CO2 from the atmosphere.
Trees are planted crops just like corn, only trees take longer to harvest.
