A SENIOR Israeli diplomat has warned that Israel is ready to launch a military offensive against Iran to prevent it from developing nuclear weapons.
In an interview with The Age, Dan Gillerman, who was Israel's permanent representative at the United Nations from 2003 until last September, said time for diplomatic efforts to stop Iran acquiring a nuclear capability might have already expired.
"The world cannot afford to live with a nuclear Iran," Mr Gillerman said. "I hope diplomacy will work, but I'm not sure we have the time for diplomacy to work.
"Israel has made it very clear that it will not live with a nuclear Iran and I believe that Israel has the ability and the capacity to make sure it will not happen."
Mr Gillerman, who will visit Australia later this month, said two clocks were running with respect to Iran: "There is the technological clock of Iran and there is the diplomatic clock, and I think the Iranian clock is running much faster."

The Time is NOW.
If someone was building artillery weapons and aiming them at your house, and threating to use them, why would anyone admire your retraint?
I don’t know,,never have been much in favor or mass extermination of people.
Give it up Israel - it is over. Blame the 78% of liberal American Jews who voted for the Trojan Horse islamic. Plus 50+% of Catholics who voted for The Islamo mole. .
You will get peace for about 7 years - by then the open borders will change America and you can forget about any support from Islam-America. The muzzies can just bide their time at that point.
Your own people did this. Sort of like Madoff.
It is a mistake to try and analyze them as if they are rational human beings.
It's not like Israel is going to care that they definitive proof who conducted an attack. And the difference between an imminent attack, which would result in a pre-emptive strike against the threatening nation, and a successful attack through non-missile methods is whether Israel takes out one nation or many. The USA, as horrific as it would be, can absorb the damage from one (even several) suit-case nukes. With Israel it's doubtful whether the nation can continue depending on the yield and location/s hit. But that would not knock out it's retaliatory capability. If they take a fatal blow they will take everybody down around them.
But Iran needs to be dealt with and "O" sure as heck isn't going to do anything about it. Except "talk" to Ahmadinejad.
This is the new hope and change to get the security vote. We are very unhappy that Israel attacked Iran but we made every effort to communicate with both of them. Sounds different out of Obama's mouth that Bush's.
Secretary of State knows this already that is why she is staying out of middle east until after the fireworks are over. Imagine the Russians are in on the deal too, sell the Iranians the equipment and technology, then when it gets blown up, sell it to them again. Same as last time.
They are in the early stages of nuke development, which probably means if they have a bomb(or when they get one)it will not be suitcase size or easily portable. Unless Russian sells them one they will not have one small enough to carry to other countries as a so called “suitcase” nuke. They might put one on a ship and send it here to one of our major ports but as for taking one to Israel, that is most likely not going to happen. They could, however, buy or develop a missile powerful enough to deliver one to Israel. Buying one would be the most likely scenario.
I’ve always said that the end-game is the Middle East getting nuked and starting over...it would save many, many lives in the long run.
Let’s git’r dun Israel!
If it depended on numbers and arms, Israel would be nothing but a greasy spot by now. Psalm 124 is the only explanation.
Watch for some terrible “natural disaster” to hit Iran.
> March 14 is the election this year in Iran.
On the old Zoroastian calendar, that’s New Years Eve.
Interesting.
Worked in Nagasaki in Hiroshima. War was over, Japan was neutered and they now send us damn good technology!
True, but a "dirty bomb" is still easier to deal with than a nuke. A single nuke of large enough yield could put an end to Israel. A dirty bomb would not. And that would not forestall a nuclear retaliation. Israel would not care whether it had enough proof or not, Iran would get the blame and get smacked hard enough to never recover.
They have the great equalizer—nuclear weapons. They ought to use them on Syria and Iran. They would settle allot of the trouble in the Middle East.
If they do, they don’t have the delivery system effective enough to matter.
You have to figure in logistics as well...
But, but, but Obama was just going to talk to them....
