In a press conference Thursday, the House Republican leadership spoke candidly about being kept out of the House-Senate conference on the Obama-Pelosi-Reid so-called economic stimulus bill. They confirmed they had not yet seen the text of the bill as of 4 p.m.
<SNIP> The fact that the Demos have now broken their promise to have the public able to see the bill for 48 hours may drive more Dems into the Republican camp.
[I] dont know, cause they havent seen the bill either, Boehner said.
The American people have a right to know whats in this bill, Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind) told HUMAN EVENTS after the press conference. Every member of Congress -- Republicans and Democrats -- voted to post this bill on the internet for 48 hours, 48 hours ago. Well see if the Democrats keep their word.

Have they released the final conference report yet? Do we really know what's in the final version?
Lying bastards. But what is new here? Common street thugs have taken over Washington. The Repubs have a big job ahead of them — we all do.
If this version passes, I hope it once again passes with, as one pundit put it the first time around, “bipartisan opposition.”
But I really hope it doesn’t pass.
It looks like they are going to ram it through without letting the Congress see it.
How can anyone vote on a bill they havent seen. Republicans should just walk out and leave them with no Quorum.
It happens all the time, unfortunately. But this is particularly egregious.
Well they won’t be voting before 8pm est tomorrow night as Reid will be waiting for Sherrod Brown’s plane to arrive since he has to go to a viewing of his father back home.
They DO NOT want us to see what is in the bill !!! -— in fact they don’t even want the members of congress who have to vote for or against the PORK to know what is in it !! —— so much for OBAMA’s “transparency
You don’t think that they’d vote without Brown?
There is a post on another thread that the three turncoats didn’t want to be the deciding vote ..and they would be if Kennedy doesn’t vote. Anyone else see that quote from them?

The only thing we have to fear is Paraskevidekatriaphobia!
All that is required for a Quorum is a majority of members present.
“Do we really know what’s in the final version? “
We don’t know the specifics but we know its crap.
We had a Tea Party in Boston over less malfeasnce than this.
Ahhhhhhhhh, yeeeeesssssssssssss. Zero promised a 5-day review before a vote. KMA you sorry POS.
I can certainly smell it all the way down here in N.C.
It’s worse than simple pork at this point, it’s a pathway to American self-destruction.
Without Brown and without Kennedy, the Dems only have 56 votes. That plus the three GOP defectors adds up to only 59 votes.
Cloture requires 60 votes (not 60% of those attending).
Some of those dems who like their jobs and who happen to represent more conservative constituencies have to go against this. Otheriwise, they are setting themselves up for a huge backlash and a massive cleaning of the stables.
Can’t say it wouldn’t hurt!
