GREGG WITHDRAWS NOMINATION FOR COMMERCE SEC

For Immediate Release:

Senator Gregg Statement on His Withdrawal for Consideration of U.S. Commerce Secretary

Sen. Gregg stated, “I want to thank the President for nominating me to serve in his Cabinet as Secretary of Commerce. This was a great honor, and I had felt that I could bring some views and ideas that would assist him in governing during this difficult time. I especially admire his willingness to reach across the aisle.

“However, it has become apparent during this process that this will not work for me as I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the Census there are irresolvable conflicts for me. Prior to accepting this post, we had discussed these and other potential differences, but unfortunately we did not adequately focus on these concerns. We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy.

“Obviously the President requires a team that is fully supportive of all his initiatives.

“I greatly admire President Obama and know our country will benefit from his leadership, but at this time I must withdraw my name from consideration for this position.

“As we move forward, I expect there will be many issues and initiatives where I can and will work to assure the success of the President´s proposals. This will certainly be a goal of mine.

“Kathy and I also want to specifically thank Governor Lynch and Bonnie Newman for their friendship and assistance during this period. In addition we wish to thank all the people, especially in New Hampshire, who have been so kind and generous in their supportive comments.

“As a further matter of clarification, nothing about the vetting process played any role in this decision. I will continue to represent the people of New Hampshire in the United States Senate.”

Seen this breaking on FOX, then they switched to the Scatterbrain giving a speech in Peoria, so I changed the channel - Giada, the Everyday Italian, is making some type of salad. She looks wonderful though.

Good. Now we don’t have to see that schoolmarm clone of the reporter from Iowa in the senate!

Senator Gregg voted with his feet.

He had better take his "Obama treats bag" and use the contents wisely as he fades away.

He’s never been a favorite of mine, but he’s my hero for a day for quitting over two very good reasons.

I greatly admire President Obama

That vomit-worthy comment practically negates an otherwise good showing of testicular fortitude.

Good for Senator Gregg. Maybe he is realizing what this country is up against!

His statement was entirely too nice.

I guess this means there is no reason for Obama to move the census.

Saya to me the census going illegal is for real.
Good for Gregg, though.

But..but..but doesn’t that mean that now somebody worse will be nominated for that position? Didn’t we want Gregg their as the lesser of two evils? Aren’t we consigning ourselves to never being in power by not being bipartisan? Isn’t he just cutting off his nose to spite his face?

Gregg was unqualified because he isn’t a tax cheat.

Mitt said his father, who held a cabinet post, was playing second and third fiddle to undergrad staffers who’s ass they had to kiss to get face time with the prez.
I’m surprised that anyone would want to be part of that.

I wonder if Commerce easing up on Syrian sanctions was the last straw.

Good Point

Glad to hear of this.

It’s sad, but we Republicans always act like LEADERS from a position in the minority.

Hopefully, this doesn’t open up the job to Slick Willie in any way, shape or form.

Judd accepted before they shifted census responsibility to Rahm Emmanual, a power grab never before attempted, even by Slick or LBJ.

AND, a REAL slap in the face -- doing so AFTER he had accepted. Obama and his crowd are low class scumnbags, to be sure. They're going to do GREAT harm to this nation before they end up in history's trash can.

He is standing in front of a large Caterpillar. I DO NOT want to see or ride on the bridges that all of these untrained illegals are going to build/construct.

” Seen this breaking on FOX, then they switched to the Scatterbrain giving a speech in Peoria, “

Yep — Fox seems grimly determined to broadcast every syllable of Obama’s every castro-esque peroration...

Who needs updates and news??
