GREGG WITHDRAWS NOMINATION FOR COMMERCE SEC

For Immediate Release:
Thursday, February 12, 2009

Senator Gregg Statement on His Withdrawal for Consideration of U.S. Commerce Secretary

Sen. Gregg stated, “I want to thank the President for nominating me to serve in his Cabinet as Secretary of Commerce. This was a great honor, and I had felt that I could bring some views and ideas that would assist him in governing during this difficult time. I especially admire his willingness to reach across the aisle.

“However, it has become apparent during this process that this will not work for me as I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the Census there are irresolvable conflicts for me. Prior to accepting this post, we had discussed these and other potential differences, but unfortunately we did not adequately focus on these concerns. We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy.

“Obviously the President requires a team that is fully supportive of all his initiatives.

“I greatly admire President Obama and know our country will benefit from his leadership, but at this time I must withdraw my name from consideration for this position.

“As we move forward, I expect there will be many issues and initiatives where I can and will work to assure the success of the President´s proposals. This will certainly be a goal of mine.

“Kathy and I also want to specifically thank Governor Lynch and Bonnie Newman for their friendship and assistance during this period. In addition we wish to thank all the people, especially in New Hampshire, who have been so kind and generous in their supportive comments.

“As a further matter of clarification, nothing about the vetting process played any role in this decision. I will continue to represent the people of New Hampshire in the United States Senate.”

Is it entirely possible and let me think on this, that the Republicans and Judd knew Obama was trying to coax a republican into the cabinet and set Bambi up, let Judd take it and then Judd drops out from under Bambi’s feet at the right time and makes him look an ass.

I’d give Judd points if he did this on purpose. Be funny if it was.

"Hannity not exactly the sharpest knife in drawer."

These are sharper than Hannity sometimes.

“Taking the census away probably convinced him that he was being played for a fool.”

And CNN is now spinning that this is a Political move.

They fail to mention ALL of the reasons that Gregg withdrew.

A C O R N being ignored on the MSM!

He’s been in the senate with Bambi for 2 years

Gregg was most likely in the senate as an active member. Senator 0bama was out on the campaign trail most of his Senate time. As I recall, Zer0 amassed a whopping 143 days of service....

Sorry to say, Hannity has always been a wee bit of a “namby pamby. But he is responsible for many people on the fence “seeing the light”.

Now that Obama’s done what’s he’s done with the Census, who will agree to be the Commerce pick? I mean, either Obama has to issue an EO canceling the other EO, or his Commerce pick will have to know that power has been removed from the office.

And if Obama cancels the other EO, he not only loses face, but he makes it obvious to all with an IQ above dirt that it was a raw political, and racist, power grab.

What to do?

He shouldn’t have accepted in the first place.

Not necessarily a bad thing to accept. I would like to have a few of our guys inside the administration to keep an eye on things and try to fight obie's agenda. Create a bit of friction. The resignation card can be played at anytime to make him look bad.

What's wrong with the Dems? They used to be way more politically savvy than this. They'd sucker someone into the job and then castrate the position. This time they put the cart before the horse with the census grab. I would say it was a combination of arrogance and stupidity but they've always had that and were still able to at least act like they knew what they were doing. I think something else is going on behind the scenes. An internal power struggle?

He finally realized how much of a slimeball marxist Obama really was with all that Fake bi-partisan crap just to turn around and be about as divisely Partisan as any Rat I have ever known.

He also realized he was going to be the scape goat for the failed Obama Administration, him being a typical, bitter clinger, whitey, Republican, semi-conservative, ya know.
