GREGG WITHDRAWS NOMINATION FOR COMMERCE SEC

Senator Gregg Statement on His Withdrawal for Consideration of U.S. Commerce Secretary

Sen. Gregg stated, “I want to thank the President for nominating me to serve in his Cabinet as Secretary of Commerce. This was a great honor, and I had felt that I could bring some views and ideas that would assist him in governing during this difficult time. I especially admire his willingness to reach across the aisle.

“However, it has become apparent during this process that this will not work for me as I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the Census there are irresolvable conflicts for me. Prior to accepting this post, we had discussed these and other potential differences, but unfortunately we did not adequately focus on these concerns. We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy.

“Obviously the President requires a team that is fully supportive of all his initiatives.

“I greatly admire President Obama and know our country will benefit from his leadership, but at this time I must withdraw my name from consideration for this position.

“As we move forward, I expect there will be many issues and initiatives where I can and will work to assure the success of the President´s proposals. This will certainly be a goal of mine.

“Kathy and I also want to specifically thank Governor Lynch and Bonnie Newman for their friendship and assistance during this period. In addition we wish to thank all the people, especially in New Hampshire, who have been so kind and generous in their supportive comments.

“As a further matter of clarification, nothing about the vetting process played any role in this decision. I will continue to represent the people of New Hampshire in the United States Senate.”

He was a fool to accept the role in the first place. I question Gregg’s intelligence, despite the fact that everyone keeps telling us how smart he is.

Don’t worry about the phrase “I greatly admire...” Politicians always say that right before they stab other politicians in the back. Gregg’s words translated in regular people speak: “I can’t stand the SOB and he’s going to pay.”

“Commerce Secretary..... Not the most influencial job in the cabinet to begin with.”

Well if you think about it, he would have had control of the Census Bureau which means ultimately means control over congressional district mapping. Now that the Sith Lord 0bama has taken personal control of the Census Bureau that means there will be lots of gerrymandering to eliminate Republican districts before the 2012 election.

Successfully replacing northeastern RINOs with true conservatives would really be even better!

The so-called "Stimulus Package" is a sham and will only harm the country and further decimate our economy. Some, like Senator Gregg saw through it and couldn't reconcile his views and the wrong headed Obama and his minions in Congress.

Meanwhile, that fool Spincter and the two dumb cows from Maine couldn't find their asses with both hands.

Hopefully, this doesn’t open up the job to Slick Willie in any way, shape or form.

I strongly doubt it. In fact, 0 took some of her secretary of state responsibilities away and gave them to special envoys. We'll see how long she lasts.

Doesn’t like having his knees cut out from under him.

Way to go, Gregg!

No .. this is MUCH better. And we keep one pubbie in the Senate, where every single vote counts, as we know ................ 1 dang vote gave the rats a filibuster proof vote on the stimulus!!

Now, the messiah and Rahm have to defend their Census position ......... HAH!

Damn! What a man! He puts the country before his own ego and fame. He's the Man of the Day. Quick, find some more of these guys.

Um... as of yesterday, he was a traitor!!! I think he needs to be taken to the wood shed and sent to bed early without his supper (or mistress).

Good. If there will be one thing I’ll thank him for, it will be the Perp Walks these two so sorely deserve.

However, that’s not going to happen. I think it’s all orchestrated between those two and 0bama. He’s not smart enough to handle any of this on his own, LOL!
