Jim, if you want to kill porkulus, I believe you must adopt a version of Limbaugh’s operation chaos.
That is you must pressure Pelosi and the democrats in the house to hold out for whole loaf. You need to support Pelosi and make her want it all. The battle cry should be “we won, the conservative rubes lost and we want it all”
Then, the republicans in the senate will walk away en masse on the final vote, and fillibuster it too.

Gosh all of a sudden I want to move to SF, declare myself democrat and gay and then run against Nancy. Then once elected I’ll reconcile with my hubby and change parties. ;)

It was apparent by his remarks at his press conference that Obama was standing over Pelosi’s shoulder when she cobbled together this legislative monstrosity. There's never been any doubt as to where Pelosi stands. But Monday night Obama revealed himself as an extortionist who will use his pulpit to negatively impact the world economy until Democrats are paid off. If this overrated token has his way the final version of the stimulus will cost more than World War II. God save us.

Baynative, just keep your cool, then, one step at a time, keep doing what you’ve been doing. We don’t want to lose your vote to a heart attack. (take at least one break a day for lunch.)

Are there any polls out that show public support for this?
I haven’t seen one.
Anecdotally, my very liberal friends are as pissed off about this bill as I am. I don’t get it...
Retail sales up in January, unemployment claims down. Is the “stimulus” working before it has even started? /sarc
