Specter crushed on all sides by stimulus vote
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review PAPolitics ^ | February 10, 2009 | Salena Zito

Arlen Specter mistakenly thought that his moderate compromise on the stimulus bill would be more warmly received.

He was wrong.

And he has a whole lot of high-level statements and primary threats as a result of the vote that backs his mistake.

The chair of the Pennsylvania State Republican Party Rob Gleason expressed

We keep hearing that from Pennsylvania but they keep sending him back. PA voters even returned the excrable Murtha to office.

Your buddies, President Bush, Sen. Santorum, and the whole RNC made sure both turds stayed in office. Thank you!

Heres the thing with Maine. The locals for the most part are conservative and moderate. The people “ from away “ as they are called are mostly liberal / moonbats. It wasn't too long ago that the state was Republican.

Ever since the 1970’s libs from Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey have flooded into Maine and they have wrecked the place. They got themselves involved with local town gov.,school boards and so on. A fair number of them don't mind Snowe and Collins that much because they are not actually Republicans.

Maine is so screwed up right now that it is reported 40% of the state is on some type of assistance. With the worsening economy the number of people taking vacations will drop. Maines no.1 industry? The tourist industry. The state is really in for a rough go of it.

Gotta appeal to blue collar workers on the bread-and-butter issues to win in Pa., and McCain didn’t. He was the kind of ship-jobs-overseas and open-the-borders-so-immigrants-can-take-what-remains Republican who’s gonna lose here every time. Pa. was one of Pat Buchanan’s top states, not surprisingly.

Well, people in PA really admire and respect him. That’s why people in PA aren’t always on target. They haven’t produced a president since 1856.

The problem will be finding a primary opponent. None could be found in SC in 2008 for McPain’s pal Lindsey.

Republican primary voters nearly always just vote for the best known candidate, not the most conservative one. These people feel that they have accomplihsed something by being able to recognize a familiar name.

I believe that Steele would be strongly for Specter in 2010.

Santorum was 50% the reason why Spectre won. GWB was the other 50%.

I was so happy on the election day that the ego driven Santorum was kicked to the curb on his ass.

In fact, it was one of the happiest days of my life, politically speaking. Poetic justice was served up with gravy on top.

Even if we get Specter, we still need one more.

Someone said this afternoon Specter and the twisted sisters received pork for their states in return for their votes.

"My understanding is that after reconciling the bills there is still a vote in the House and then the Senate."

But does the Senate need 60 votes after conference or 51?

” I went to GOP.com.
Not a word on what UNCLE STEELE is going to do about the traitors.
This won’t be resolved at the ballot box. “
-
I called Steele’s office today and they told me NOTHING could be done about this. Then I asked who pays for these 3 losers in their elections if not the Republican party. They said that the National Republican Senatorial Committee is responsible for this. SOOOOoo, I called the NRSC and asked a few questions about responsibilities and was politely HUNG UP ON!!!

SO, I found out that Senator Cornyn is the chair of the NRSC and the role of this org. is to:

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) is the only political committee solely dedicated to electing Republicans to the U.S. Senate.

What We Do:

The NRSC provides invaluable support and assistance to current and prospective Republican U.S. Senate candidates in the areas of budget planning, election law compliance, fundraising, communications tools and messaging, research and strategy.

Cornyn’s office needs to be contacted by MANY OF US TO FIND OUT WHAT HE INTENDS TO DO ABOUT THIS?!

Arlen Spector is a whore. Can we relay this message to him effectively and in time for him to change his ultimate position?

HATE is not strong enough to describe my feelings.

<< union democrats will change their party affiliation ... in the primary to defeat any conservative.

Pennsylvania Conservatives: Find a conservative to register now as a Democrat, and run in the Democratic primary. Democrats will have to think twice about which primary they want to vote in.

I have actually defended Specter here from time to time. His grilling of Anita Hill helped get Thomas on the Supreme Court, and he was instrumental in helping to bury HillaryCare.

No more. Specter is a scumbag and he must be defeated.

Specter is one big @ssho.. that it so weak to the demonratz!

When I saw Holder being lined up for Atty General I just thought 'oh oh, Arlen is just gonna roll over for him'

I'm so damm sick of Republicans always having to play 'nice guy' to those craphead liberals when its their guys up for nomination, but when we have conservative up for nominations we have to fight tooth & nail just to get a hearing much less the nominations!!
