This vote was to end DEBATE not for the BILL. The person who put up this thread did not know what he was talking about. The vote on the bill is tomorrow morning. Then the bill goes to conference and comes back to both House and Senate for a final vote on the conference committee.

SEMANTICS. PROCEDURAL STUFF BE DAMMED, WHO IS GOING TO CHANGE THEIR MIND???? THEY GOT US. THANKS MAINE!!!

By a vote of 61-36, the Senate voted to cut off debate, setting up a likely vote on final passage Tuesday. Democrats needed a 60-vote majority.

If the bill passes Tuesday as expected, lawmakers will then have to reconcile the differences between the Senate and House versions of the package.
