All eyes in Pennsylvania are on U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter and whether he votes for or against the $800 billion dollar stimulus bill, now called the new stimulus compromise that may go up for vote this evening.
If he votes yes, said one Republican strategist attending the Pennsylvania GOP state committee meeting in Harrisburg, He guarantees himself a primary challenge.
Up for re-election in 2010 which ever way he goes, it will be the vote heard round the world.
There is potentially no member in the U.S. Senate that has it tougher in the next six to eight months than Arlen Specter, said Dan Fee a Pennsylvania Democratic strategist.

I called and Emailed the SOB! he will be retiring in 2010!
That rat bastard had better get at least one damn vote right or he can start packing tonight.
oh no!
If Spectre votes “Yes” and runs again, I will send the maximum contribution allowed by law to his opponent.
I heard that Franco Harris is going to run for Snarlin’ Arlen’s senate seat in 2010. He will win, too, if his opponent is Specter. But I don’t think Specter will be the nominee. He will have challengers coming out of the woodwork.
RINO SOB. He is no worse than the people who elected him.
Conservative are not served when RINOs check RATs when they are the minority - that's just eunuchs strutting. Conservatives are served when Republicans act with clarity and decisiveness when they ARE in power. This dog and pony show has nothing to do with conservatism, re-casting the GOP or preserving the Constitution.
McCain, Kyl, Thune, and now, Lindsey Graham, have really let Specter and Collins have it...on the floor!
Specter’s supporting it. I’m mad as hell at that RINO but not surprised! Saw him on the Senate floor just a bit ago saying, “I don’t like it but I’m responding.” Hopefully Pat Toomey, a real conservative, challenges him in the 2010 primary again. Specter only beat him by about 2% in the 2004 primary.
Does a Specter re-election really matter? From an outsider’s viewpoint, PA is a lost cause. Fast Eddie and his union thugs seem to have total control.
I mean McCain was the seemingly perfect candidate for that requisite northeast moderate republican type yet he was walloped in PA by Hussein - despite spending the final weeks living in the state.
McCain....pfffft
Did you hear McCain? He was good tonight.
Agreed, PA went Leftists and will never look back.
Besides, Congressmen and Senators are lifetime appointments anyway, so why do we bother with elections?
I will work 18 hours a day to campaign against that sob.
What matters is punishing RINOS and making life in the DC hard.
I will Join you but the best Opposition Is Toomey but I understand he won’t run again!!
Since GOP jobs are fewer most Good guys won’t risk a Run and have no fallback job!!
