I don't like the stimulus and would prefer it not pass...but since the GOP has added their own pork...it's going to pass. Please call Congress and the White House. Tell them if the BUY AMERICAN amendment is stripped...do not vote for the stimulus bill. I would be just as happy if it did not pass, but if tax payer dollars are going to be spent, let's stimulate the American economy and provide jobs for America-not Europe,Japan and particularly not China. Stand up for America.

Don't let free-traitors win this time...it's too important. Stand up for American jobs! Call after 9:00 AM;if you can't call email everyone! This is our country...Don't let the European Union dictate our trade policy...on a bill that is supposed to stimulate the American economy and provide much needed jobs for Americans.

Short of scrapping the whole thing, I don’t care what they add or take away; I’m telling them not to support it.

1. It is not a stimulus bill, it is a pork bill.
2. Free trade is conservative, protectionism is collectivistic.

Buy American Act = Smoot-Hawley circa 1930.....
To: djsherin
It works for me...please tell them-if you agree- that it’s ridiculous to propose a stimulus without Buy American provisions and that you are against this bill in the first place.

I agree....this bad bill is going to pass, regardless of the “conventional wisdom” media wonks on both sides are saying. The GOP Senators will cave, they always do
If this is going to pass...I want that Buy American clause.
I know some would rather have European Socialists and Communist Chinese getting our bailout money....the Free Traitors...but the money is best kept in America
Also, you have to wonder how skrewed up the Euro and ChiCom economy really is....if they are that spooked with a “Buy American” clause in a bill.
Free Trade is dead....get over it

I think you should not betray your neighbors. Your city should enact a ban to stop you from buying any product not produced in your city. Give the jobs to your neighbors.
Tax any items not produced in your city to fund city government.

Ithink that pretty much sums it up. I wouldn't be surprised if they passed tried to pass trade protectionism. And Obama will still probably say "well think how much worse it would have been if we had allowed free trade or if we hadn't intervened with all this stimulus,"

Tell them if the BUY AMERICAN amendment is stripped...do not vote for the stimulus bill.Do a little research on the Smooth-Hawley Tariff Act that became law in June 1930. It ... not the 1929 market crash ... is what triggered the Great Depression
As close as the global economy is to the edge of a cliff a trade war now will simply ensure that it goes over.
