(excerpted)... According to NFL VP of Officiating Mike Pereira, the replay official upstairs did see the play clearly.
“We confirmed it was a fumble,” said Pereira. “The replay assistant in the replay booth saw it was clearly a fumble. The ball got knocked loose and was rolling in his hand before it started forward. He has to have total control.”

His hand was on the football. his hand is connected to his arm. his arm was moving foward, the ball came out forward.
That is called an incomplete pass.

Even My Patriots had a worse case for a non fumble against Oakland with the ridiculous "tuck rule" that allowed Tom Brady to go on and steal a Playoff victory in 2001, than what Warner got last evening.
On the other hand, the Patriots were owed by the NFL for that BS call in Oakland's favor back in the 1970s.

What part of clearly an incomplete pass don’t you and Petronski understand?For me, the part I don't understand the psychic break from reality afflicting one who claims an incomplete pass on a thread about the league clarifying that it was a fumble.

“It was a fumble”
I saw it several times from several angles. It was not a fumble. I doubt it would have made any difference. I felt the officiating was one sided. When have you ever seen three personal fouls on one drive? One was legit, one was questionable, and one was absolute Bull Sh!t.
It was a great game. I felt that AZ controlled 3 quarters. The INT at the end of the 1st half for a touchdown was the play of the game and what ultimately made the difference.

Mike Pereira’s job is to defend the integrity of the league and the officiating above and beyond all other things. The NFL is a business that charges top dollar for its product. He has to perpetuate the myth that it is above reproach. However, season after season, game after game, Super Bowl after Super Bowl we are faced with this (or some previous) dunce trying to pull a Jedi mindtrick on us. With the advent of DVRs and TIVO we can all do slow motion, freeze frame, and multiple angle views of the event. I would have a lot more respect for him if he simply said we blew it or the fix was in. I don't like having my intelligence insulted.

This will always be a matter of opinion, P. No one is saying the league didn’t come to this conclusion, but man pay attention, the ohio conservative is disagreeing with the league’s findings.

His arm did not move forward until the ball was being stripped. And even then it was only his elbow. The Steeler had so much weight on it Warner almost broke his arm. End of discussion.
