This is insanity! Food is food. This should not be a right or left or conservative or leftist issue. I am center right and I eat everything from everywhere and I welcome all type of ethnic foods - this doesn’t make you less American and it should not make them any less Italian.
Now I know where the ethnic food intransigence springs from when I associate with many Italian Americans like my in laws - heck, German American food is too exotic for them! However my wife eats food from all cultures.
These ethnic banning food Italians seem to be more idiotic than anything.
