A U.S. official says President Barack Obama has authorized more aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to help them recover from damage caused during a recent Israeli offensive.
U.S. Middle East envoy George Mitchell said Friday in Jerusalem that Mr. Obama has approved $20 million in emergency food and medical assistance for Gaza.
Fighting may cause more setbacks
Mitchell says it is important to consolidate a durable and sustainable cease-fire between Israel and Gaza's Hamas rulers while immediately addressing Gaza's humanitarian needs. He also says fighting in the region may cause more setbacks to peace efforts.
Mitchell says Washington remains committed to, "actively and aggressively seeking a lasting peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors."
US envoy meets with Israeli opposition leader
The U.S. envoy continued his first official tour of the region Friday by meeting with Israeli opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem. Mr. Netanyahu is a front-runner in the race to become Israel's next prime minister after elections next month.

So now Obama is basically giving tax payer money to a terrorist organization. Since it is highly questionable as to where this money will go and for what purpose other than humanitarian aide it will be used, isn’t there some legal basis for stopping this transaction altogether?

Did any of you happen to know that Israeli IDF were caught selling weapons to Hamas and the PLO as early as 2002? Yes, it is true. As long as violence could be sustained, the Zionists would never have to talk peace and a state for the Palestinians.
For all this talk about tunnels, one must keep in mind that mainly food, medicines and other necessities made their way thru these tunnels as the borders remained sealed on a democratically elected gov’t.
The Israelis had/have full control on air/sea/land access. It would be more than simple to let weapons and explosives “slip” thru. Also, it was the Israelis who broke the last ceasefire on Nov. 4th, not Hamas. The Israelis continuously provoked Hamas into rocket attacks and supplied them with the means to carry out rockets attacks so they could accuse them and, indeed ALL Arabs of “terrorism” to further alienate the Arab world from the western world on behalf of Israel.

Once one reevaluates these situations using the premise that the PTB already know this, it becomes clear that "unintended consequences" is merely a euphemism for "intentional results designed to look like an accident".
War on Poverty, War on Drugs, War on Fat, Peace in the Middle East... I have as much faith in the success of the War on Terror, as I have in the rest of these boondoggles.
Most people have already paid, via their paychecks. Otherwise, I’d be more than happy to jump on the bandwagon.
