'My eight miracle babies': Mother of octuplets reveals her joy ... but there's no sign of the father

The mother who gave birth to octuplets - giving her a grand total of 14 children - has said her babies are 'miraculous'. But as more details emerged...neighbours raised questions over whether her children will have a father in their lives at all.

The woman's mother...confirmed the octuplets were indeed the result of fertility treatment - and...had had the opportunity to abort one or more...but turned it down.

It was also revealed that the woman's father - a contractor - may be forced to return to work in Iraq to help support his 14 grandchildren.

Cramped: This two or three bedroom bungalow
in Whittier, California home to the woman who gave birth
to octuplets this week

Residents....where the unidentified mother lives said they have never seen the woman – who they said looks to be Hispanic - with anyone who looked like a boyfriend or husband.

A neighbour...said: 'I don’t think she is married or has a partner."

Concerns...also raised over the family's home...

But the babies' grandfather said the family have a far larger house elsewhere....

'We have a huge house, not here....'You are never going to know where it is.'

...The mother of the octuplets is believed to be 33.

As to nationality, a reference to Suleman in Kosovo/the Balkans...THE WAR IN THE BALKANS
For example, Salim Suleman a leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army (U.C.K.)...

The current president is another example of how the left defines “being productive” -

someone that talks about being productive.

And one of the spears of that is to out-reproduce the other cultures.

And have the other cultures pay for it when possible

I'm reminded of a type of bird that lays it's egg in the next of another bird. The foreigh bird is cared for by the foster mother bird and then eats the foster siblings. Does anybody know the name of this bird?

So I assume you are against public school. If you have children who went to public school, they did it on the public’s dime.

I've run across a variant of Suleman...Suleiman.
I wonder if the reporters (cough) even asked how the last name was spelled or if they just guessed.

Invading their liberty?

Probably a typo, ya think? Meant to be privacy?

“It’s a little fascinating to me that some people actually came onto this thread to read thru it so they could tell us it wasn’t our business.”

The purpose of coming to the thread might not have been to tell you anything, but as we learned more, the thoughts about it progressed...some people do not go into threads with their minds already made up...I find it fascinating you find that fascinating...

Good sleuthing.

This is a weird story. A woman who already has six kids takes fertility treatments?

Grandfather on the scene, but no husband or boyfriends?

Iraqui citizens?

You can’t make this stuff up.

Good sleuthing.
Thanks.

He shouldn't have thrown down the gauntlet.
I've got the bone in my teeth now.

The parasitic bird I was thinking of is called the Cowbird.

"The Cowbird is know as a "brood parasite." The Cowbird adult female lays her eggs in the sparrow's nest. When the cowbird chick hatches, it pushes out the other baby chicks. Then the sparrows raise the cowbird as their own"

Think of this metaphorically.

That's presuming they get jobs. Chances are, they're going to learn the life of a welfare family in America.

Welfare and Medicaid don't pay for in vitro, which is about as elective a procedure as elective gets. So I suspect she is not quite the welfare case people are making her out to be.

Which begs the question:

Who paid for the in vitro?

Another article mentions the family forclosed on a house recently. There is also reason to believe the woman has no husband or partner. Obviously she could not have been employed herself 9 monthes ago with 6 children under the age of 7 including twin toddlers.

So who paid for the in vitro?

Sorry, I confused you with a previous poster who accused me of presenting a religious argument (when I hadn’t).

The fact remains that people are really exercised about this woman having 8 more children. They wouldn’t know or care if she’d gone through the procedure and only 1, 2, or none had implanted successfully. And there’s no way a person can know they’re pregnant with eight until they’re actually PREGNANT WITH EIGHT, at which point they can either carry all or abort some. No other choice there.

Well, if I were a writer, I could work up a scenario where Saddam Hussein had his sperm frozen sometime in 2001 and shipped it off to loyal friends in other countries (just in case he were, like, captured and executed or something) and this woman was one of the contest winners selected to give birth to a dozen or so little Husseins (along with plenty of cash to pay for it all), and at this moment the Sulemans are preparing their escape to the homeland, where a very large house indeed awaits them...but that would be silly.

I’ll be borrowing heavily from “Rosemary’s Baby” and “The Boys From Brazil” for this novel...

Media knew little about the woman until a family acquaintance told CBS’ “The Early Show” on Thursday that the mother is “fairly young” and lives with her parents and her six children.

Within hours, media had camped out at the family’s home in Whittier, where the babies’ grandfather pulled up in a minivan in the evening and briefly spoke to The Associated Press. Beside him were two children — a 7-year-old and 6-year-old — who said they were excited to have eight new siblings.

In addition to the 6 and 7-year-olds, the mother also has two children ages 5 and 5, and 2-year-old twins.

neighbours last night revealed the mum - who has not been identified by the hospital but is believed to be 33-year-old Nadya Suleman - works as a technician in a fertility clinic and does not appear to have a husband.

One neighbour who gave her name only as Verda said: “She worked at a fertility clinic, that’s what I understand.

“I believe that’s where she got pregnant with all of her children and it was all done officially.

“I don’t think she is married or has a partner.

“The only male I’ve seen over there in the two years or so she has lived there is her father, who must be in his Sixties.

“A couple of times I’ve waved at her across the street, but I don’t see her often and didn’t even know she was pregnant.”

The woman’s father arrived at the house in Whittier, about 12 miles south east of LA, with some of the young children last night.

The father, who identified himself only as Ed, spoke at the door as the woman’s six children were heard screaming and rampaging around the tiny house.
