Transportation officials in Texas are scrambling to prevent hackers from changing messages on digital road signs after one sign in Austin was altered to read, "Zombies Ahead."
Chris Lippincott, director of media relations for the Texas Department of Transportation, confirmed that a portable traffic sign at Lamar Boulevard and West 15th Street, near the University of Texas at Austin, was hacked into during the early hours of Jan. 19.
"It was clever, kind of cute, but not what it was intended for," said Lippincott, who saw the sign during his morning commute. "Those signs are deployed for a reason — to improve traffic conditions, let folks know there's a road closure."
"It's sort of amusing, but not at all helpful," he told FOXNews.com.

Home again. Now I’m going to put on my slippers and have a small Restorative.
James and Pat must have gone to the playground, because it’s very quiet here! Almost 60 outside, very nice for the Ecuadorans’ cookout.
College students around here (U of Miami) don’t really do that.
Jaywalking is high among Latin Americans around here too.
I am well.
We are still getting less sleep due to the 19 pound 27+ inch 4 month baby boy.
Wifey last week landed in the emergency ward.
Went to the dentist to replace the only cavity filling in her mouth. They gave her the same pain killer as before, but she had a massive allergetic reaction.
She was home in 4 hours, but we guess having the baby and feeding the little guy has changed her metabolism at least for the short term.
Overall, we are OK.
LOTS of signs with things for rent or sale all throughout LA and Orange Co..
