Caroline Kennedy's "personal reasons" for withdrawing from Senate consideration were not connected to damaging claims from Gov. Paterson's camp that she owed back taxes, had a nanny problem or faced a marital scandal, two sources close to her have told The Post.
"The reasons she withdrew had nothing to do with the reasons that have been cited by that person close to Gov. Paterson," said one of the sources.

"And Gov. Paterson knows it," the source, raising his voice in anger, continued.
The source said that Kennedy, who had been touted as the leading candidate to succeed Hillary Rodham Clinton for some two months, would have taken the job if Paterson had moved more swiftly to make a decision, and would have said yes even as late as Monday or late Tuesday - because the family problem had not yet arisen.
A second source close to Caroline Kennedy's family confirmed that the "personal reasons" cited by Kennedy were not related to the three possibilities that would be leaked by an authoritative Paterson operative.
"Caroline learned on Wednesday that there was a specific and serious concern involving someone in her family, and it had nothing to do with taxes, nannies or her marriage," said the second source.

Well Kennedy seemed to be more relaxed tonight. I don’t care how she answered the question, she really is hitting here stride. And her familiarity with the topics, she really knew her stuff.
Well Palin has been here before. She still looks tentative. She should have know this material folks. If she isn’t more informed by now, I doubt she’s ever going to be ready. Yes, it’s sad to see someone just melt down like that. This could be it folks. I don’t think she’s going to be respected or taken serious after this lackluster performance.

Why would that disqualify her? She is a Kennedy for crying out loud. They consider adultery to be an Olympic sport and sleeping with a Time’s reporter would qualify her for the medal round.

What he hasn’t come right out and stated, is that the whole Caroline debacle, the rollout of the smear campaign and rumors, was a Clinton hit job. Has Clinton fingerprints all over iot.
