When Barack Hussein Obama places his hand on the Bible today to take the oath of office as 44th president of the United States, Barbara Nelson of Kenmore will undoubtedly think back to the day he was born. It was Aug. 4, 1961, at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu.
I may be the only person left who specifically remembers his birth. His parents are gone, his grandmother is gone, the obstetrician who delivered him is gone, said Nelson, referring to Dr. Rodney T. West, who died in February at the age of 98. Heres the story: Nelson was having dinner at the Outrigger Canoe Club on Waikiki Beach with Dr. West, the father of her college friend, Jo-Anne. Making conversation, Nelson turned to Dr. West and said: So, tell me something interesting that happened this week, she recalls.
His response: Well, today, Stanley had a baby. Now thats something to write home about.
The new mother was Stanley (later referred to by her middle name of Ann) Dunham, and the baby was Barack Hussein Obama.
I penned the name on a napkin, and I did write home about it, said Nelson, knowing that her father, Stanley A. Czurles, director of the Art Education Department at Buffalo State College, would be interested in the Stanley connection.
She also remembers Dr. West mentioning that the babys father was the first black student at the University of Hawaii and how taken he was by the babys name.
I remember Dr. West saying Barack Hussein Obama, now thats a musical name, said Nelson, who grew up in Kenmore and went to Hawaii in 1959 to be in Jo-Annes wedding party. When Nelson was offered a job as a newspaper reporter and photographer......

Was 0bama Sr the first black student at U of H, or the first African black student, or neither? I sort of remember reading that he was the first black African student, hard to believe he was the first actual black student. But if anyone knows, you would.
Not to mention the highly slim possibility that a retired ob/gyn who was a medical director would be at a hospital he wasn’t associated with at 7:24 pm on a Friday evening!
I didn’t see anything in the article about him remembering it. It says he mentioned it to the woman in the article on the day it happened.
Nowhere did I say it was okay to break federal laws but nice try. To say someone was a patient in a hospital is not a federal crime. If they gave out their medical records would be a crime. You are obfuscating.
HIPAA gives patients power to limit access to confidential information. Being hospitalized is not confidential. It is in every newspaper nationwide when someone has been hospitalized from a major illness or accident.
You're right. But if you call a hospital and ask if a certain patient is there, they're not going to tell you.
Especially since Obama and his thugs did not pull off the lie so the hospitals were virtually guarded against answering questions.
That's you. A lot of other people would be less comfortable with anyone off the street being able to look up all of their medical records.
Show us where anyone asked for all of Obama's or Ann's medical records?
Obama Sr was the first African student at UH at Manoa but there were other black American students at the University at the time. The majority of blacks in HI at the time were associated with the military. At this time I have been unable to confirm if any other students from Kenya ever went to the University but we know from Frank Marshall Davis there was a student from Ghana which attended and the other exchange students who arrived at approximately the same time as Obama Sr were from Jordan and Iran.

The above says that Dr. West delivered him. Did you not read carefully?
>>>Heres the story: Nelson was having dinner at the Outrigger Canoe Club on Waikiki Beach with Dr. West, the father of her college friend, Jo-Anne. Making conversation, Nelson turned to Dr. West and said: So, tell me something interesting that happened this week, she recalls.
Doesn’t say if it was that day or not; she supposedly asked what happened that week. Where does it say that very day? ANd if he we born in the evening, these people were having dinner late at night? If it was the same day?
And another thing that makes no sense is so what about the name Stanley? Just because her father is named Stanley? Bit deal. The article does not make sense.
Well, I didn’t read carefully - yes, he does say it happened “today”. So since apparently 0bama was born in the evening, and supposedly this doc delivered him, and it must take a bit of time to finish up with everything, clean up, and then go to dinner, it must have been a late dinner.
Another point which Barbara Nelson got wrong is the fact that she says Obama Sr hadn’t seen his son in eight years when he appeared at Punahou to give the Kenya presentation. She is going by the “official storyline” which says Obama Sr left when Jr was 2 when we know Ann was back in WA state before Jr was a month old and didn’t return to HI until early 1963! Obama Sr left HI June 22,1962 and even then Jr wasn’t yet a year old!
She must be going by “the book”.
This is what Obama and Maya have reported. I don't believe a word of anything Obama or Maya say because they have been caught in too many fairy tales.
That story now sounds like a fabrication of Obama's mind. Eeerily it sounds like his own words in his inuagural speech where his delusions speak volumes.
I like that you research and remember things.
No doubt she may be a littel confused, as anyone would be, but I do not think she is by nature a liar. Although, most Democrats I have run into are either delusional or liars. Some are simply full of Kumbaya. She was a nice lady who remembers life via some rather rosy colored glasses no doubt.
Well, now we know the rest of the story. /sarc

The disinformation campaign is in full swing now, folks.
Occam's Razor - It's the simplest explanation that fits the established facts, until proven otherwise. I just don't think the contrary evidence is very strong.
I don't find the claims that the birth document posted on the internet and photographed by factcheck is a forgery to be convincing. The balance of the evidence indicates to me that this is a document actually issued by the State of Hawaii. That someone who claims to be a great document expert doesn't like the birth certification is something I take with a big grain of salt.
Yes, I would like to see the original long-form birth certificate. I don't know why Obama doesn't request that this be revealed, other than the fact that Hawaii doesn't seem to normally provide copies of original forms. Maybe there is something embarrassing to Obama on the original form. It's not necessarily his place of birth. I feel like the failure to issue this original form is all you've got.
I don't find the idea that the birth announcement was just a diversion to be plausible.
As for the supposed statement of the step-grandmother that he was born in Kenya, I don't find this to be good evidence for the following reasons:
1. Apparently she made this statement in a tribal language and no one who speaks this language other than the translator on one video has vouched for it.
2. IIRC the statement has since been retracted by her family who said there was a misunderstanding. In any case old people sometimes say weird things.
3. Absolutely no other evidence or testimony has been produced from Kenya that he was born there.
4. Unless proven otherwise, it is not very plausible that Obama's mother made a round trip all the way to Kenya and back just to have a baby.
5. The API thing was just a fraudulent farce - there was nothing there.
As for the other proposed nation of birth - Canada, there is also zero evidence that he was born there.
So, with no hard evidence that Obama was born in a foreign country, one is left with the US, and he would have no reason to lie about the particular state he was born in.
As for the notion that Obama has spent a $1 million in legal fees fighting this, that is just an Internet rumor with no foundation. The fact is that no court has even taken one of these cases, much less ordered Obama to come up with his original long-form birth certificate, so in a legal sense nothing is forcing him to reveal it. He probably had to spend very little to arrive at this point, especially since as a candidate he probably had salaried counsel who were dealing with other things as well.
By the way, I recently took a one-month break from reading FreeRepublic. (It was using up too much time.) I noticed that in the outside world, no one is talking about this, except for the one day when the court turned down Donofrio. That doesn't mean that people on FR are all wrong, but for all the sound and fury here, there's not much to show for it.
I'd really like to see the original birth certificate too, but I don't think it is going to reveal that Obama was not born in Hawaii.
With Dr West retiring in 1956, the doctor Nelson claims to have delivered Barry O is total fiction.
It is a coincidence how Nelson happens to be at the right time and place for so many of the events in Barry O's life.
This woman is a sociopathic liar and needs to be supervised.
I’ll bet this lady had the whole class singing the ‘Buy the Union Label’ song at the end of the day too.
“Then there was the day young Barack took that dead bird, cupped it in his hands, and then after spitting on it, the little bird came alive again and flew away. I still have the blouse with the stain where the wee bird pooped as it flew off.”
Well, since she isn’t a FReeper, this is the first time she’s heard there was a contriversy.
Can’t blame her; the MSM didn’t carry anything about it, until suits started being dismissed.
Just think, if the NYT had run the early stories, she would have seen it, and immediately come forward, and laid everyone’s doubts to rest! *<];-’)
