OBAMA RE-SWORN IN

At 735 pm, Roberts administred the oath of office again to obama in the map room. Robert gibbs said the wh counsel, greg craig, believes the oath was fine Tuesday, but one word was out of sequence so they did this out of a "an abundance of caution." "We decided it was so much fun..." Obama joked while sitting on a couch. Obama stood and walked over to make small talk with pool as roberts donned his black robe. "Are you ready to take the oath?" Roberts asked. "I am, and we're going to do it very slowly," obama replied. Oath took 25 seconds. After a flawless recitation, roberts smiled and said, "congratulations, again." Obama said, "thank you, sir." Smattering of applause. "All right." Obama said. "The bad news for the pool is there's 12 more balls."

What did the journalists at the presser say about not being there. Would it have been customary for them to be there.

I don't need him to stumble over words to get a feeling of foreboding and impending misfortune from him!

“The president said he did not have his Bible with him, but that the oath was binding anyway.”

Obama had all the Bibles replaced with the Koran...

With Obama, the swearing will never stop (at least in my household).

At least Roberts has not awarded himself four gold bands like Rehnquist.

“There, now I’m a natural born citizen”, he quipped, following his announcement of the annexation of Kenya as our fifty first eighth state.

Disgusting to think how many times Stanley Armour Dunham used “my mother committed suicide when I was young and I was the one who discovered her body....”

Where exactly is Stanley Armour Dunham quoted as saying that? The only reference I know of is in "Dreams," p. 14, and it 's not a direct quote:

"My grandfather’s station was more troublesome. Nobody was sure why-the grandparents who had raised him and his older brother weren’t very well off, but they were decent, God-fearing Baptists, supporting themselves with work in the oil rigs around Wichita. Somehow, though, Gramps had turned out a bit wild. Some of the neighbors pointed to his mother’s suicide: it was Stanley, after all, then only eight years old, who had found her body. Other, less charitable, souls would simply shake their heads: The boy takes after his philandering father, they would opine, the undoubtable cause of the mother’s unfortunate demise."

Stanley Armour was no public figure. He didn't leave behind any speeches or writings.  Any reference to his mother's suicide I've seen are quoted from the above, written by his grandson.

Jr was brought up on such stories so it is obvious he was told them just as he was told stories about his own father. He in turn twisted the words to make them appear as he wanted them to. With a mother who was a consumate liar and a grandfather who told stories to change his history it really doesn’t surprise me that Jr tells a “good” story, he learned at his grandfather’s and mother’s knees!
I have actually read the interviews of some of Stanley Armour Dunham’s classmates who refute the story that Stanley Armour was kicked out of school after punching the principal. It is unfortunate that some stories are just now being brought to light as incorrect. Such things should have been done long before the election.

I suspect most Justices paused after "I [your name here] do solemnly swear." It's a natural stopping place, especially for the soundbite generation. To push through "I ... do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States," before pausing looks like too much.

Burger paused after "solemnly swear" when Reagan took the oath. Rehnquist paused after "George W. Bush" at the last inaugural, and after "solemnly swear" when Bush's father became president. If somebody's interested, they could probably rustle up other previous inaugurations on youtube.

Did Roberts check Obama’s birth certificate while he was there?

The "Best Question of the Week."

The answwer is "NO."

Mr. "I need a bigger Salary if Want Me to Be on the SCOTUS" did to even investigate.

If I travel...I take my Bible with me.
If I go to work...I have my Bible with me.
If I am home...I have it there, too.

He was home.
He was at work.
He knew ahead of time that he would be sworn in again. He planned it.
HOW could he NOT have it - or atleast plan to have someone bring him one. Does the Lincoln bedroom have a Gideon's Bible? If I was President, I would say, "Could someone get me a Bible?" What would they say, "Get it yourself, we're too busy."?? I don't think so!
Isn't there a Bible in the library?
HOW HARD would it be to get a Bible?

I just have to figure that he had no intention of using a Bible. Right?!

So now I just have to ask, "Why?"

Because Obamessiah can do no wrong ... Obama screwed up the oath in the end; Roberts corrected himself.

Justice Roberts screwed it up, not Obama. He should have read it off a card like Justice Stevens did for Biden. Cannot blame Obama for this one.

This is one FReeper that agrees with you.

HOW HARD would it be to get a Bible?

I obviously wasn't too important to him.

Or maybe he messed up the first one on purpose and planned to do the second one without the Bible.

Right. I agree that there should be pauses between each phrase. It’s just that this pause was an unusually long one.

The word stumbled over was “faithfully” and that was very telling.

If they had a redo, does that mean Biden was President for a day and Obama is not #44 but #45?

Just asking...

BINGO!

That is the only logical and realistic explanaion.

Regardless of whose name she put on the BC, when or where he was born, his biological father was SOME back American male.

Although it may or may not have been a well known black icon, it certainly wasn’t the Kenyan.

He recieved ONLY his exotic name from him.

This explains Senior’s relationship to the son, who wasnt.

This explains Barry’s attitude towards the Kenyan family (purely opportunistic.)

This explains why no one in authority has pursued the issue.
