PORTLAND, Ore. - Newly sworn-in Mayor Sam Adams has admitted having a sexual relationship with a teenage intern he met in 2005, according to Willamette Week, a news partner of KATU.
The paper said it spoke with Adams Monday afternoon while the mayor was in Washington D.C.
In that interview, the paper reports, Adams said the relationship with Beau Breedlove lasted for a couple of months in 2005.
Adams and Breedlove met in 2005 when Breedlove was 17 years old. Adams told Willamette Week the pair had a sexual relationship but only after Breedlove turned 18.
Adams had denied having an intimate relationship with the teen when reports first surfaced in 2007 - at the beginning of his run for mayor. At the time, he wrote a "Open Letter to Portlanders" to respond to the controversy, calling it simply "ugly politicking."
On Monday, he told the paper the following:
"I have apologized to Beau Breedlove for asking him to lie for me. I want to apologize to my colleagues for my dishonesty and especially to the people of Portland for my dishonesty. I should have been truthful from the beginning."
KATU is trying to contact Adams in Washington D.C. for comment on the report.

As others on this thread have said, this isn't just about lying. It is about his taking advantage of a young boy, who was vulnerable, and an intern, and years younger than himself.
If he had sex with this 17 year old it is, in fact, a CRIME, in case a county prosecutor cares to notice. This Adams is a pervert and ought to be prosecuted for rape of a minor.
I won't be holding my breath, however, for charges to be brought, or public outrage to run this pervert out of office in Portland OR.
I'm not sure what a "Motel pig party" is but it sounds just awful, in Bethesda or anyplace else. Yuck.
Yes but the problem is that he lied so effortlessly about it. It should disturb us when our elected officials lie without unease or remorse. Because the media will ignore the lies of a Democrat, it is difficult to know when they are telling the truth.
The Peoples Republic of Oregon will likely make him Governor. Portland is as corrupt as Chicago.

Not knowing who Mayor Adams is, after reading the title and the first six paragraphs, I had no idea that the mayor had a sexual relation with a *male* intern (I thought it was a girl named Beau, like Bo Derek). Is homosexuality among Democrat politicians so run-of-the-mill that the fact that the teenage intern that the mayor sodomized was a male isn’t revealed until the seventh paragraph, and only because the mayor refers to asking “him” to lie?
I guess Adams is lucky he didn’t send any text messages to the boy, which according to Democrats is much, much worse than actually having sex with him (which I’m sure is why Republican Mark Foley had to resign for sending text messages to a teenage intern that pretended to be gay while Democrat Gerry Studds was made a committee chairman after getting the boy drunk and sodomizing him).

Kenneth Parnell, who had sex relations and raped little boys he stole from their parents, for years and years. Ever see the 1980’s tv movie, “I Know My Name Is Steven”? Kenneth Parnell is still walking around today, last I heard, while his victim is dead.
Parnell died in a prison a year ago.
I’m glad to know that, but it took him long enough.
C’mon, now. You know there are different standards for the parties. Impossibly high for ours, none for theirs. Fair is fair, right ?

I was thinking that "Sam" and "Beau" are probably both male, but nothing in the story says that specifically.

At the time I didn’t get it, the kid was talking about girls in his emails..was he trying to sting Foley or what?
