Not surprising, and not even original. Clinton did the same thing when he took office - tried to buddy up to the Conservative Punditry - had them to the White House for lunch. It’s strictly a PR move for Obigula. Look at what a nice man I am! I’ll even talk to the evil White Right-Wing media.
Of course, someone should tell him it didn’t help Clinton, either. Rush put him down so effectively there was a Republican Congress in two years and Dr. K beat him up every week in his column for every boneheaded move the Sleezeball in Chief did.
Of course! It's all a matter of where you are standing in the political spectrum - and the NYT is way over on the left, so almost anyone, except left wing bomb throwers, looks conservative to them.
Hey, they compare Bush to the leader of the former "National SOCIALIST German WORKERS Party".
In other words, they think Hitler, the leader of a socialist workers' party, was a conservative!
That tells you just how far left they are.
I’d love to get Dr. Krauthammer’s psychiatric report on Barry.
Rush was in the audience at the White House for the Freedom Awards. You can clearly see him in the video released by the WH. Doubt he met with the great exalted One, the messiah.
What is distressing is the story coming out that Obama pre-designates which reporters will ask him questions at press conferences. If you are not in favor, you will not be called on. Not a good sign, IMO.
Disagree- if he asked me for advice or my opinion, I would give it to him straight up. And I would keep the discussion to politics, not personalities, even though I might not care for his personality.
We don’t think so.
It’s the rohrschach blot absorbing.
More schmooz the newz.
Which one of these neocon rinos is the conservative?
I’ll play devil’s advocate for a moment.
Some of our presidents understood the importance of schmoozing the opposition press. If you listen to the LBJ tapes, it sometimes seems like that’s all he did. Reagan was the great communicator. I think one of the current Bush’s biggest failures was that he did not do this. If you want to be an effective president, this is what you have to do. That and get your loyal people in key positions.
0bama has clearly read some history, and has given some thought as to what makes presidents effective and what not to do. So I won’t ding him for this. Hell, I’d do the same thing.
I don’t think CON MAN falls within psychological parameters.
Not only WHICH reporters, but even more distressing, WHAT THE CONTENT OF THEIR QUESTION will be.
Will the journalists be wearing Team Obama t-shirts so he can recognize them during pressers?
A hard rain will fall "someday".. soon I hope..
Next thing you know, Bush and McCain are Conservatives.
I know what you mean...when the Cold War ended some of these formerly so called conservatives showed their true colors and they aren’t conservative.
You can’t get more “inside the beltway” than a Chevy Chase dinner party for the President Select hosted by four entrenched RINOs.
Neither is their fellow neocon, Krauthamer.
If Rush was part of the conversation - then what’s left...just everything.
Seriously I cannot imagine he was....
“Of course! It’s all a matter of where you are standing in the political spectrum “
Exactly.
Mmm, I guess I got the wrong impression from the title of the article. I thought it said that he dined with conservative columnists, but it was actually Bill Kristol.
(My “straight up” to Hussein.)
I will laugh at every stumble you make, applaud your mistakes and cheer your enemies. I want you to spend the next four years cowering in a corner while our economy crashes and burns and our enemies kick your arse. I want you to leave office a broken man. And I want every disloyal American who voted for you to share your pain. You all poisoned the well for the last eight years, and I want you to choke on it now. *No* bipartisanship, *no *compromise, *no* surrender *
I will create doubt about you in every conversation. I will question your judgment. Support your opponents. Ridicule your errors. Mitigate your successes with suggestion of unintended consequences. Refuse to praise your work. Challenge your advocates when they advocate; I will not let them own the conversation.
I will give you the same respect you gave last President of the United States, our missions in two war theaters, and our military.
